When I got my rejection email, I didnt really feel devastated and/or disappointed. After years of working at a hospital, I have come to terms with myself that nursing is not for me. I guess the shift work, under-staffing and fast-paced/stressful environment somewhat drained my initial interest for the profession. But working side-by-side with wonderful supernurses, I have my utmost respect for the profession. Cliche aside, I really do think nurses are superheroes! And it takes a special person to be a nurse. Goodluck with your endeavor! On the other hand, I have done some research on other avenues to healthcare and I have taken interest in Sonography/ultrasound! I have also shadowed a sonographer for a day and I fell inlove with it. So my goal is towards that path. For the first time, I got so excited again!

I don't have much hope in getting in to be honest. I slacked off big time on my last two years at university sending my GPA onto a downward spiral. I wasn't really intending on applying to nursing until late last year. UBC is the only school I applied to because they consider your experience and such. But the competition is really tough. If you don't mind me asking, why do you want to be a nurse? Aside from money and stability.
