  1. When I got my rejection email, I didnt really feel devastated and/or disappointed. After years of working at a hospital, I have come to terms with myself that nursing is not for me. I guess the shift work, under-staffing and fast-paced/stressful environment somewhat drained my initial interest for the profession. But working side-by-side with wonderful supernurses, I have my utmost respect for the profession. Cliche aside, I really do think nurses are superheroes! And it takes a special person to be a nurse. Goodluck with your endeavor! On the other hand, I have done some research on other avenues to healthcare and I have taken interest in Sonography/ultrasound! I have also shadowed a sonographer for a day and I fell inlove with it. So my goal is towards that path. For the first time, I got so excited again!
  2. Unfortunately I did not get in this time. Goodluck on your interviews On the other hand, I will be going on a backpacking trip to southeast Asia.
  3. Congratulations!!! Do you mind checking how many are signed up already? Goodluck on your interview :)
  4. Thank you for the update! Crossing my fingers :) I started to look for alternatives. There's a 2 year waitlist here in my local college so I should probably look into that. I'll probably do some traveling if I don't get in UBC. Heck, i just booked a plane ticket to southeast asia. haha!
  5. i read somewhere that they are offering interviews to 216 applicants. And currently, there are 208. Goodluck to us, beaker1 :)
  6. If i get a rejection email tomorrow, i'd just think of it as "April Fools" haha! #nervous
  7. Could anyone check how many slots are filled? Thank you in advance :)
  8. That's good to know that you are doing this for the right reasons. Best of luck to you! You better start practising and try to video tape yourself
  9. I don't have much hope in getting in to be honest. I slacked off big time on my last two years at university sending my GPA onto a downward spiral. I wasn't really intending on applying to nursing until late last year. UBC is the only school I applied to because they consider your experience and such. But the competition is really tough. If you don't mind me asking, why do you want to be a nurse? Aside from money and stability.
  10. Well, I've been working in the ER (with nurses) for almost 5 years now. If you have any questions, I'm more than happy to ask them.
  11. Oh wow! There you go. With that experience, I think you have the skill to nail that interview. :)
