So the other day I happen to glance at the computer screen of the unit secretary (who I have since learned is doing prereqs) as I walked behind her and noticed that she was reading a post on this site.
What was interesting about this is that at that very moment she was reading one of MY posts from 2012 ... what are the chances? I kept silent. And she will never know that the real PacoUSA was standing right behind her.
LOL!

Yep, you've just outed yourself!
i remember at my last job, I was surfing AN and stepped away for a moment - walked back to my computer and the CNM sitting next to me said "I KNEW you were Klone!"
As far as I know, that's the only time I've been outed. Surprisingly, most of my coworkers don't seem familiar with this website.

I lied to a student once who figured out who I was.

So far nobody has made the connection. Lots have mentioned registering, but not dedicated enough to willingly hang around our group of nutballs. I say that with all the love, really! :-D

I was an LVN at a nursing home in 2008 when one of my coworkers passed out a printed list of all the LVN to RN transition programs located in and around the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area.
The printed list was actually one of my forum posts. No one at the workplace knew I was 'TheCommuter,' nor did I reveal my online identity. Click on the link below. Post #5 is the list that she had printed and disseminated to everyone.

No one will ever find out who I am.
I don't really exist, outside of being words and images on AN.com.
I had a co-worker call me "Blondy" once in real life. It startled me a little, but I tried not to show it. I am blond so it's not a far stretch to come up with that on your own...

I've figured out one user on AN, went to school/worked with that person...Their behavior on AN as well as the stories they told left no room for doubt as to who it was...I took it as a lesson to be very, very careful with what I post to the internet...

Really?
Hmmmm...
LOL!!!
This reminds me of Ruby Vee at Panera (?) hearing a bunch of nursing students complaining about the COBs on AN. She said she had to fight the urge to walk up to the table and say
"I'm Ruby Vee"
I wish she would have.

I was identified once -- by a very nice person. We have communicated via e-mail regarding professional stuff a few times in the course of our work. I was lucky that she is a good person.
Years ago, there was a person who seemed to mentally unbalanced talking about where I work and how she was angry about not being able to get a job here. I was afraid she would find out who I was, but she never did. Fortunately, she eventually disappeared from Allnurses.
