Hello everyone! I may be a little early with this, but here's a new post for all of you hoping to apply this September 2nd for the Spring 2015 semester at UMSON. You can post questions you have, helpful advice you would like to give (if you're already in the program), etc.
I specifically have a question for those who have already applied to the Spring 2014 semester and got in. When you applied last September, when in November did you get your acceptance letter in the mail? Was it the beginning, middle, or toward the end of November? I'm asking this because the other nursing school I am applying to only gives a 3-week time period after the end of October (when they let you know if you made it in or not) to accept or decline enrollment. So, if I don't make it into UMSON, I'd want to be able to give this other nursing school an answer before the 3-week time period runs out.
@kirstens......It's a cool job. I LOVE kids!!! No experience was necessary but I did have my CNA already. They trained us for everything!! Even those without their CNA's. Sadly, my last day is December 18th. I need time to wrap things up before classes begin. They offered, and I accepted, to stay on in case I had a day here and there I can be a substitute tech!! And also for once we graduate and I am looking for a job......I can come back.
The deposit is $400, and they do need it within 2 weeks of you getting your acceptance letter. It goes towards your tuition and is non-refundable. I'm still waiting to hear from financial aid myself as I am sure I'm going to have take out a loan. I'm guessing they will not release that information until prob early Dec. It is nice that their nursing loan doesn't accrue interest while you are in school so I could probably use my tuition reimbursement to help pay some of it off with my current employment.
hello hello!
i got the call today and was accepted!!! i still am finishing up chemistry so i'm a provisional admit as of right now. can't believe it though - i've been dreaming of this day for a long time hahaha. had to ask my parents if i was really accepted (they were in the car with me when i received the call). congrats to those who got in and for those who haven't -- we'll see you the following semester !! thanks for all the helpful information ladies. i seriously am excited to be alongside such wonderful future nurses!!!
anyone else a provisional admit?? i was too busy being in la-la land, i can't quite remember if i had to make a deposit right now. i know i won't be getting my official letter until after i submit my chem grade though so i'm guessing not yet? can anyone answer this for me?

She said deposit is between $400-$500 and it is due 2 weeks after you get your acceptance letter. This goes towards tuition if I'm not mistaken.
