UMSON Spring 2015

Hello everyone! I may be a little early with this, but here's a new post for all of you hoping to apply this September 2nd for the Spring 2015 semester at UMSON. You can post questions you have, helpful advice you would like to give (if you're already in the program), etc.

I specifically have a question for those who have already applied to the Spring 2014 semester and got in. When you applied last September, when in November did you get your acceptance letter in the mail? Was it the beginning, middle, or toward the end of November? I'm asking this because the other nursing school I am applying to only gives a 3-week time period after the end of October (when they let you know if you made it in or not) to accept or decline enrollment. So, if I don't make it into UMSON, I'd want to be able to give this other nursing school an answer before the 3-week time period runs out.

usedtobecool84 - yes!! seriously!! i got a call from the lovely ms. priyanka and she asked me if I knew what this call was about. i told her i thought i did, but not entirely sure. she said, "i think you know x)" ahaha. the admin staff are a lovely humorous bunch.

I'm provisional as well cause im taking micro. I think we need to pay to reserve a spot. Well I would imagine. They will want to know for sure if we are coming ASAP so they can fill the seats if not.

Also the lady who called said I would be getting a letter in the mail this week or next. So I think we still get all the same stuff as regular accepted people, but we just need to do well and send transcripts later.

Yay! Congrats happymochi!!! I'm so happy for you! Gosh it's so nice to hear for you ladies that it all worked out in the end!

Yes you have to put down the deposit as a provisional admit. They expect you'll finish your current classes with an A or B. (However, if you get less than a B, you will forfeit your spot.) You'll need to submit a transcript as soon as your grades are posted.

Another thing to keep in mind: the deposit is due two weeks from the date on the letter. (NOT two weeks from when you get it!) Admitted applicants have to decide quickly! I've seen confusion about this on previous boards.

Just saw my status change online, and I got in! Yay! Don't lose hope littlemango - mine changed sometime after 4, so they are still going through them! I'm sure we'll be classmates.

In the event that I don't get in (and there is a possibility, I know my essays were a little weak...), at least I'll have Towson to back me up! Would be an awful shame though. This has been my No. 1 since 10th grade! Oh well. Ooooh well...

What I am glad about is that I started this thread in order to gather up information for prospectives, and it has done just that... and more! We've all become such good friends online. I truly hope I become your classmate, guys. :)

Hi Everyone,

i just got home and checked surfs for the 74646737 time and saw the magic words Admit-Institution!! I'm so happy I literally cried. I haven't got a call yet though.

Like a few of you I have been keeping up with this thread for some time now I just never got around to making an account. I've been waiting in agony since I saw the acceptances starting to go out. CONGRATS to all accepted so far!!!

For those who would like to know I got an 82% on my TEAS, my science GPA = 4.0, my prerequisite GPA =3.67, and no healthcare experience.

For those still waiting don't be discouraged! No news is still good news! That's what I was telling myself today. Good Luck and see you in the spring! :)

Hi littlemango, don't lose hope yet. I am still waiting like you. As far as I know, it just has been two days since they started calling. I am hoping they will let us know before the end of this week. But as we have seen in previous posts, it might take a while for most of us to find out our fate. If we are not in the first round, I think we have to wait until the accepted people confirm their place before they make their final decision.

Hey Kristens, if you find out how many people got accepted so far for shady grove please let us know. It will kind of tell us where we stand.

So far I have only met like 3 or 4 people. In the gauranteed admission pool with me there was one other person. So I think theres a lot of space left or people just aren't on this website.
