That's horrible, I'm sorry to hear this. It's already hard enough being bedside and taking care of others-- don't know why our colleagues treat us the way they do (negatively) sometimes. Before you switch out of bedside, is it possible for you to try a different type of specialty? My background is in cardiology and I've found that most doctors and nurses in this specialty respect one another. You have some bad eggs here and there, but there are very few. If not, try ambulatory setting or consider what the other post wrote above. Good luck to you!

lissy1214, i was searching to find some more information about specialties in nursing and i stumbled across your post. i'm really curious as to what you've decided to do as i also am a nursing student who is also an INFJ (such a rare type!). contrary to you, however, this is my second degree and i personally chose to follow this route after volunteering at my local hospital for about a year. if you don't mind, perhaps you can PM me? i really do hope things worked out for you in the end! looking forward to hearing from you -- happymochi

Hi everyone! Anyone going to be working while being a full time student? I know it's not recommended, but I know I'm going to try to work at least a little. hey hopeful 2015 -- so far, there are 23 members in the fbook group (shady grove +bmore combined). does anyone know how many spots there are for each campus??? but also note that there might be accepted students who haven't joined the fbook group yet/don't have fbook.

Thanks so much for starting this thread and for moderating so well. katiep_123 -- i would definitely get some volunteer experience--any medical experience--on your resume, and really work on your essays. perhaps get a friend who is already in nursing or med school to look it over? i would also try to get a higher TEAS score if possible. in my case, i think my healthcare experience and essays really helped me. my grades were good, but my TEAS score could've been higher, so i'm thinking that experience and the essay portion really worked in my favor. bcandygurl -- i think it was you that answered my question?? thanks for that! this is to everyone -- the UMSON checklist! http://www.nursing.umaryland.edu/media/SON/Admissions/Checklist-for-Admitted-BSN-CNL-Students-Online-Version.pdf it says on there that you must sign the form AND pay your deposit within 2 weeks of your dated acceptance letter. i recommend everyone to print this form out and check things off as you go! :)

usedtobecool84 - yes!! seriously!! i got a call from the lovely ms. priyanka and she asked me if I knew what this call was about. i told her i thought i did, but not entirely sure. she said, "i think you know x)" ahaha. the admin staff are a lovely humorous bunch.

hello hello! i got the call today and was accepted!!! i still am finishing up chemistry so i'm a provisional admit as of right now. can't believe it though - i've been dreaming of this day for a long time hahaha. had to ask my parents if i was really accepted (they were in the car with me when i received the call). congrats to those who got in and for those who haven't -- we'll see you the following semester !! thanks for all the helpful information ladies. i seriously am excited to be alongside such wonderful future nurses!!! anyone else a provisional admit?? i was too busy being in la-la land, i can't quite remember if i had to make a deposit right now. i know i won't be getting my official letter until after i submit my chem grade though so i'm guessing not yet? can anyone answer this for me? GAHHH :D

Hm, to my understanding I thought it'd be 20-25K as well. I took a look at the costs and had to add stuff up since there's no direct total cost shown. I'm debating on whether or not I should apply to JHU because their tuition (full-time) is 60K! And that's just for 13 months... x__x Regarding financial aid though - will the school tell us how much we can borrow after we've been accepted? I submitted my FAFSA a while back, but not sure how this all works. Can anyone clarify? Thanks!

Hey all, Just wanted to clarify something. Earlier, I said to contact Ms. Shannel Watson to check about your In-State Tuition Forms. Don't do that. Haha. The admissions office did tell me to contact her about the forms, but this is the message she sent me:

Hi katiep_123: Yes, I turned my In-State Status Form in. You can contact Ms. Shannel Watson [email protected] to make sure that your form was received. Littlemango: Haha, no problem! :) And aw shucks, would've been nice to see you on the Baltimore campus! I'm actually closer to Baltimore, but yeah, I'm not too familiar with the area. But oh well, it'll be a learning experience! It'd be awesome if I could move down into the city though. Anyway, I wish you lots of luck girlie!!! :)
