Umson spring 2016 applicants

Published

Hello, all!

My name is Christina Smith! I know I started this thread a little soon, but I am sure others are just as anxious as I am about applying! I have submitted my application for the spring 2016 program :cat: I just want to post some background information about myself, and anyone who has been accepted to previous semesters can share some insight with me if the wish!

I have a 3.9 GPA. My science gpa is as follows:

A: A&P 1

A: A&P 2

B Micro (Which was taken in 5 weeks, do they view the length of the semester?!)

I have gotten As in all of my other courses, and just need algebra and chemistry (which I am taking together this fall.)

I have been a CNA for 2.5 years, and have worked as a med tech for 14 months, and have recently been employed by Carroll Hospital as a MED/SURG PCT.

I have not taken my TEAS, but have purchased a study guide and plan to STUDY STUDY STUDY!!

I was accepted into my community college's ADN program, but I want to step outside my comfort zone and head towards my dream school. I am so nervous!!!!!!!!!

You can usually check the status online before you receive a hard copy letter! I'm having extreme anxiety but I got accepted to my backup school so I'm feeling a little bit okay.

I'm late, I just found this thread. Good luck to everyone. I was wait listed last semester like many of you. I applied to Towson's nursing program and was accept however I really want to get into UMSON. The shady grove campus is literally 5 mins walking distance from my house. Last semester the waiting felt unbearable.....that feeling hasn't changed lol

Ok, I was pretty patient before, but now I'm starting to get really antsy. I know we won't get any decisions until the first week of Nov so I don't even check SURFS but my eyes have been twitching for like 4 days now. LOL. I need a decision!

I finally heard from my backup school yesterday and was accepted! You'd think that would make me less anxious but now I'm actually more anxious! I'm currently enrolled in a&p 2 with a TERRIBLE professor, algebra, nutrition, and an elective. I just need this semester and wait to be over! My motivation is beyond gone.

I KNOW. Isn't it horrible how we could wait two months but the last two weeks are excruciating. I got into my backup school too and now am stricken between two choices, one of which isn't actually an option yet (since we haven't heard back from Maryland). I'm just trying to stay very very busy

Congrats to both of you on getting into your backup schools! Just think of it like this, no matter what at this point, you will be starting school. I haven't heard anything on my second choice school so I'm just twiddling my thumbs.

I wonder if people who were put on the waitlist for Fall 2015 will hear back first?

I was put on wait list for spring 2015 so then rolled my application over for fall 2015 and still didn't find out until everyone else did. I don't think those applications find out any earlier. I know the decisions have come out for their masters program though

So I've been MIA for a while but thought I'd like to mention that I work with one of the parents of someone who applied to the RN-BSN program at UMSON and she asked me if I found out if I was notified of my admission decision yet... and of course I haven't like many of us here.

But she continued on to say that her daughter found out yesterday that she was accepted into the RN-BSN program.... :wideyed:.

I assume RN-BSN applicants hear back sooner than BSN applicants... right? Erghh this doesn't help with my anxiety levels! At least we will find out our fates in the next couple of weeks, hopefully! :roflmao:

I cannot believe in just a few weeks we will hear something! I am taking Chem right now and I am miserable! Absolutely no motivation. I am hoping an acceptance will give me that little surge of motivation. I hope everyone who gets accepted posts :) We can do it guys!!

I'm right there with you. I have a full course load this semester, including a TERRIBLE A&P2 professor, and I am DYING. Ugh.

these last couple weeks are draaaaaaaaging! my stress is not helped by the fact that I am trying to take 19 credits right now, with one of the classes being an accelerated 8-week course and one of them being an accelerated 5-week course. Wish I had a nice big ol' acceptance letter right about now to help relieve me of some of this stress lol:nailbiting:
