UMSON Fall 2015

Published

REMINDER!!! The deadline to submit your Fall application is nearing. As of now, the deadline has not changed from February 2 (short of 4 weeks away).

This is my second time applying--I was wait listed for the Spring term. Currently, I am studying to take my TEAS exam again on January 27th. This exam was the only portion of my application I was not confident in. I scored a 70% without refreshing my memory on key concepts by studying before hand. I did find the test to be a "you either no it or you don't" kind of thing so from personal experience--STUDY!

I have no outstanding prerequisites and my sciences are as follows:

AP1. -- B

AP2. -- A

CHEM -- B

MICRO -- A

I had the privilege of chatting with the last group of students and found this forum to be quite helpful! Please use this post as a way of communicating, sharing experiences, and giving advice. Hopefully, we will be classmates in the Fall!:)

This was my third time applying. Got rejected last fall, applied for spring 2015 got wait listed and then got rejected again this fall :( I will not be applying here again! I feel as if they already admitted everyone before and since some of us were still waiting are now just getting rejected! I am confused as to why decisions never go all out at once. But I have learned not to put all my hope into one school.

I'm sorry about your news.:( Do they ever notify you why you are rejected? Like I understand they may not say it's because of grades, but perhaps missing application info. IDK. It just seems weird to have been waitlisted one semester and then flat out rejected the next time around.

I got wait listed also. Have a Bachelors in another field, getting my associates this spring with a 3.9 GPA, and 4.0 science GPA, 80.7% on TEAS. Good luck for everyone else! Not quite sure what the plan will be for me...

another waitlisted one here... have bachelors and masters in different areas. really have no idea what my gpa is... probably around 3.3? 3.4? teas score was 92.7%. only can wait and hope, but if not this cycle, i'll reapply for the next one. :/

Aww :( But you still have Towson right?? Is that a viable option? We'll all see each other in the working world soon tho... :)

Yeah, looks like I'm going to be a Towson Tiger. I didn't like that turtle anyway, or whatever they call it.

Stiff competition ... Nice stats guys/gals !!!

Omgggg everyone had nice stats. I'm scared as shhhhhhh.. I'm still committee ready. I hope I don't get rejected.

I have an associates. I have a 4.0 overall gpa and science gpa but my teas is 80%. Not that much healthcare experience. And I'm still committee ready. I don't know wether I'll get in or not.

You should check out the CNL program. It's designed for people who have a bachelor's in another field, but would like to enter nursing. You'd be an RN with a Master's degree.

That comment was for you jinra and ATPtheWayToBe.

For those who have been wait listed,

I spoke with the assistant director of the BSN program and asked if my application will roll over next semester. I was informed if this is your first time applying after all spots have been filled we would get an email asking if we would like to reapply next semester. If so the application fee would be waved and if we would like to make changes i.e. letters of recommendation, TEAS score etc. then we can. If you choose to use the same letters of recommendation then your professor has to email the school indicating that they may use the letters again. She also mentioned if you are currently taking classes as soon as grades are out send your transcripts. I have a tiny bit of hope that I will get off the wait list, if not there is next semester. I already paid Towson the enrollment fee and have started their check list. I will be taking some classes and apply for their nursing program in the spring also. So next semester something better happen lol.

i was also just wait listed. does anyone know how many people typically get pulled from the waitlist?

@C'est La Vie, Congrats on getting in!! What is the date that you must submit the enrollment deposit by?

Thanks purpleandwhite! The deposit with the confirmation letter must be received within 14 calender days from the date of the acceptance letter.
