UMSON Fall 2015

U.S.A. Maryland

REMINDER!!! The deadline to submit your Fall application is nearing. As of now, the deadline has not changed from February 2 (short of 4 weeks away).

This is my second time applying--I was wait listed for the Spring term. Currently, I am studying to take my TEAS exam again on January 27th. This exam was the only portion of my application I was not confident in. I scored a 70% without refreshing my memory on key concepts by studying before hand. I did find the test to be a "you either no it or you don't" kind of thing so from personal experience--STUDY!

I have no outstanding prerequisites and my sciences are as follows:

AP1. -- B

AP2. -- A

CHEM -- B

MICRO -- A

I had the privilege of chatting with the last group of students and found this forum to be quite helpful! Please use this post as a way of communicating, sharing experiences, and giving advice. Hopefully, we will be classmates in the Fall!:)

Oh man I hope they hurry up! The Towson deposit is due tomorrow and I don't want anyone to lose another 300$ :( Can you all call Towson to maybe ask if that part of the deposit can be paid next week because of the chaos from this week? I am sure UMSON is working as fast as possible...

Finally received UMDSON's formal acceptance letter in the mail today!! Returned the confirmation of enrollment with the $400 enrollment deposit already so at least things are moving along for those students that have been admitted...

Best wishes to the folks still awaiting a decision, I sincerely hope you hear something tomorrow!

I heard today and although it wasn't what I was hoping to hear, I still got into a nursing program at another school so I am excited! Your time will come so don't worry! It may take time like it did for me, sometimes longer than you want, but it'll all come together and be well worth it when it does!

Thanks everyone for the great conversations and support I always encounter on this forum! Good luck to everyone!

Well, my status has finally changed :( "rejected-application" Time to initiate plan B!!!

Very best of luck to all the NPs who have been admitted.

My status changed to Wait Listed. :yuck: I waited all this time... to be told to wait. I'm 30 years old, I cannot wait any longer!

My status changed today afternoon to rejected-application.

I did't get into both Towson and UMSON so I should try again for Spring 2016.

During summer I should study for TEAS and retake it and do some more volunteering!

Do you guys know how many students UMSON at shady grove accept for spring semester?

Aww :( But you still have Towson right?? Is that a viable option? We'll all see each other in the working world soon tho... :)

Oh man. Sorry for those who didn't get in. I still haven't heard anything yet. :(

@C'est La Vie, Congrats on getting in!! What is the date that you must submit the enrollment deposit by?

@nover: I am in the same boat as you! I still haven't heard anything yet, and I'm afraid to admit that we either didn't get in or we got Wait Listed; this would be the second time I got wait listed =/

Hey guys!

The bad news came today, I was waitlisted.

Here's a glance at my application:

GPA: 3.8 (since last transfer)

science GPA: 3.5

TEAS: 80%

2 yrs of healthcare experience

CPR cert

I definitely will not put all of my eggs in one basket for the Spring. Good luck to those still waiting and a very big congratulations to those who were accepted!

This was my third time applying. Got rejected last fall, applied for spring 2015 got wait listed and then got rejected again this fall :( I will not be applying here again! I feel as if they already admitted everyone before and since some of us were still waiting are now just getting rejected! I am confused as to why decisions never go all out at once. But I have learned not to put all my hope into one school.

Also congrats to those that found out!!! I'm sure you all will do great! :)
