Who is applying?
I unfortunately didn't get in this time around but will shoot for next semester. At least I know I can take the TEAS again and work hard on my remaining pre-reqs. Thanks for all your support and answering questions everyone. I feel very fortunate to have encountered such a supportive group!

so sorry to hear that. I know exactly how that feels. I have been rejected twice for two consecutive semesters and I still keep trying. Don't give up.

Katie you didn't get in!! I'm super bummed by this, I was looking forward to possibly being classmates with you! Wow now I'm scared as hell! It still stays committee ready and I haven't recorded any phone calls yet. What does your status say if you're not accepted?? I want to mentally prepare myself.
Katiep - I hope you aren't too upset, know that you did all you could and that the competition is stiff this semester. You seem very smart and capable. I hope that you reapply, never stop pursuing your dream. For what it's worth, I found after not getting in last semester, despite the inevitable devastation, I was able to evaluate why I wanted this so badly. I hope you're able to reflect on that, and that you find that the passion for this career is still there, and if anything that fire is burning brighter. I know that is how I felt after the disappointment wore off. Good luck to you in the future, who knows - I haven't heard anything yet - maybe we'll see each other on next semesters boards!
Wow, that is tough. I am so sorry to hear, since I have been following your journey, and a few others, on this thread. It does seem like their process of notifying accepted and denied students is much more stressful than it needs to be. I have been agonizing right along with you and everyone else here, and I still have not heard anything about my own application. Don't give up! I hope that you keep trying, either at MD or elsewhere. Remember, the goal is to become a nurse, and many roads can get you there! Congratulations to those who are in!
For those who didn't make it this time, I hope we can becoming classmates in the spring!
Thank you guys so much. I am a little upset but am feeling better now. I ended up dropping chemistry and if I got in I was going to take it as a condensed summer course but I feel relieved knowing that I won't have to do that and I can take it over the fall.

I am definitely an older student, and I just got into Towson a few weeks ago. I think the application for special consideration actually works to the benefit of someone who may have been out of school for a while, had some good life experiences, and/or had a couple of lower grades from many years ago (like me). I did have to take all of the nursing prerequisites over the last 2 years (A&P, micro, statistics, chem, psych, etc.) , and I have a 3.95 in those. My TEAS was a 94%, in the 99th percentile. The application for special consideration was not difficult, especially compared to all of the essays for Maryland. I hope that nobody else out there would be put off by it! I am still waiting to hear from Maryland, but I will probably make someone on the wait list happy if I do get in, because Towson is my first choice!
