Who is applying?
I can't believe I was wait listed, I'm so honered, with my gpa and my lack of experience in health care setting. Thank you UMD! I'm glad to have been considering for a seat with people who have worked very hard to get into the schooL. To be honest after everything is said and done, the admissions committee truly care about the teas exam. Please don't apply if you don't get above 80% even with a perfect gpa, that's an indication of how well u will perform on the licensing exam which in today's economy schools are concerned with getting u to pass that exam on ur first try. That's how they get their top applicants to apply which means more money and they keep their rank. This simple business 101.Though I also believe that the schools wants u to be an excellent nurse, but the most important thing is money, and umd can't bet on the wrong player!
Wow, that is tough. I am so sorry to hear, since I have been following your journey, and a few others, on this thread. It does seem like their process of notifying accepted and denied students is much more stressful than it needs to be. I have been agonizing right along with you and everyone else here, and I still have not heard anything about my own application. Don't give up! I hope that you keep trying, either at MD or elsewhere. Remember, the goal is to become a nurse, and many roads can get you there! Congratulations to those who are in!
ITA. I wish I knew the point of this whole staggered process of letting people know their decisions!
itsmylife - I respectfully disagree. While TEAS is a good indicator of success in the program no one should ever follow the advice "please don't apply with under an 80%". There is no magic number, everyone should do their best and give it a shot. Besides, if some didn't apply with under an 80% you probably wouldn't be on the wait list.
I'd imagine the rest of us will find out this week. Hopefully in time for those of you who've been accepted to other school to make a move. Last year I waited like 5 days to find out I was wait listed. I have no idea how UMSON offers admission, but it certainly doesn't seem the process is in favor of the applicants, but rather in favor of filling their seats!

I completely agree, I think UMD has drown out this process longer than it needs to be! I mean another school day has gone by and I still know NOTHING meanwhile Towson wants a deposit by Wednesday! It doesn't really make sense, why can't they just let everyone know at the same time. It's a matter of simply changing an online status with one click! Rejection is very difficult but all of this extra stuff on top (like all the waiting) is too much!
