Who is applying?

Good idea! Changing my pic now! Paris suites me better since I'm a Frenchie!
Hi guys, new here... Quick question. Does anyone think that having a bachelor's degree makes me look indecisive or like a more appealing candidate? Little worried about that. Also, I was denied in-state tuition (working on appeal), could this affect my chances either way? Good luck to all! Waiting anxiously with ya!

If anything I'd think the bachelor's degree would be a bonus. Dedicating 4 years of your life to something, in my opinion, doesn't show indecisiveness at all!
This school's application process is so unpredictable though. One semester a group of 4.0/95+ TEAS students will go in, each with tons of volunteer work and the next semester will be a bit more average group entering. It always, always boils down to the competition. Some application cycles just seem to be more competitive and therefore harder for non-trads or average students to get in (and I count myself in the non-trad pretty average group!!)
Hopefully that second degree will be what is missing from this class and they'll be inspired to be like, yeah we def need that second degree applicant!
When I was briefly in, I had to friend the program manager at the USG campus and she had to invite me to join the fb group. She was also the only one who could approve members to join the closed group. I don't know how it works at the Baltimore campus.
Gotcha, maybe USG is different! I'm on the fb page from last semesters Baltimore class and it was made by a student who had to invite me to join. Either way, still probably too early for all that jazz.
I don't know about you guys, but I can't wait to take the proverbial exhale when we get decisions. You all seem very helpful and resourceful - I think we'd make a hell of a class.
Hi All! I've been reading this for a while, and just now joined! :)
I have a question for anyone who might know... I applied for Fall of 2014, and soon after I submitted everything, my mother passed away unexpectedly at the beginning of February. I am doingwell under the circumstances, but I am also incredibly nervous at the idea of undertaking a rigorous course of study while grieving. Does anyone know about deferring acceptance in the nursing program or if that is a possibility? I haven't talked to the school yet because I don't even know if my application will be accepted, but the question has been on my mind so I figured I'd go ahead and ask here.
Good luck to everyone else waiting to hear! :)
I'm sorry for your loss! I think I read somewhere that you can request to be deferred but you (speaking generally) must have a solid reason as to why. So I think it all depends on what the nursing school thinks. Hopefully the grieving process will be a little easier by the time you do start in the fall if you were to get accepted. :)
Best of luck!
Hey guys, just chiming in again. Hope everyone is doing well!
I'm hoping that we hear back on Friday!!!Ahhh so nervous. Just curious to know which campus everyone has applied to. (I applied to Shady Grove)
The email that we got did imply that our decision for the campus had not effect on our admissions but I am wondering if there are a certain number of applicants that get accepted for each campus.
I think I remember hearing somewhere that since Baltimore is the original campus, they accept more students??

According to the dean of admissions who came to talk to the pre-nursing society at UMDCP a couple weeks ago, about 40 get into Shady Grove and about 80 to Baltimore. She reassured us though, that the ratios are about the same with how many applicants apply per school and how many students are admitted. So from what I heard, it seems as though there is an equal shot at either campus!
