Hi all! ?

I am making this thread for all UMSON DNP candidates for Fall 2021! I'm applying to the Family NP option. Anyone else applying? Good luck to all!

Is there anyone else who has yet to receive an interview? My application moved to committee review on the 10th and I’m applying for the Psych speciality...

Also applying for psych: I haven't heard anything either. My application moved to committee review on January 11th. Honestly, I've just assumed that I've been rejected since I'm pretty sure we would have heard back about an interview by now..

Hi All, Just wanted to let you know that my application was under committee review 1/12 and my portal was updated yesterday 2/19. I was rejected unfortunately. Hoping to get into the private schools near by, since I was invited to interviews from them!

Here are my basic stats for the FNP DNP program

-Out of State Applicant (possibly the biggest determinator due to Land Grant Funding)

-GPA 3.65 overall, Sciences/Nursing course GPA 3.80

-2021 BSN Graduate/Student Nurse Assistant

*Knowing that I do not have much clinical or nursing experience, I emphasized all my various leadership, volunteer experience, and awards in my resume. Everyone's volunteer and leadership experience are unique so I chose not to list them. ?

Hey sorry to hear that...best of luck with other schools. If you don't mind me asking, which FNP track did you apply to?

I interviewed for the FNP 3 year track first week of January and my application is still under "committee review." Which track did you apply to?

No worries! I actually heard back from one of my other schools and I got in! I am waiting for the other school for their decision and I'll know where I'll end up ?

I applied to the full time BSN-DNP FNP 3 year track.

From what I can tell, I don’t believe that applicants are separated by ‘track’ based on length of time to complete. When you receive your offer letter, it does not specify a 3-, 4-, or 5- year track. My understanding is that you are accepted to the program (FNP, pnp, etc), and then you somewhat establish your own track dependent and on the courses you sign up for. Does anyone else have any better insights?

For Psych they asked me, via e-mail, prior to the interview, the following

"I have attached the plans of study for your review.  Please review prior to your interview so that you will be able to tell us which plan of study you choose. "

Then at my interview, I let them know which track I would like to pursue, if accepted.

Interesting!  They did not send this prior to my interview for FNP. They did ask how long I would plan on taking and I told them 4 or most likely 5 years.

Agreed! I was asked during my interview as well. The nurses of Reddit mentioned in a post that they will put you in the track you mentioned if accepted

I applied to the 4 year track

Any 3-year track FNP applicant still waiting to hear back? My application is still under committee review and it's already March.
