Hi all! ?

I am making this thread for all UMSON DNP candidates for Fall 2021! I'm applying to the Family NP option. Anyone else applying? Good luck to all!

I was just looking at the deadlines on the UMD website and saw this new message "We are still accepting applications for fall 2021 for all specialties except:

Family Nurse Practitioner - Baltimore
(Spaces at the Universities at Shady Grove are still available.)."

My application status has been in committee review since January and I haven't heard anything either.

Oh I didn’t even notice the update. That’s interesting. I interviewed for the 3 year FNP at the Shady Grove campus and I wonder why they haven’t made a decision about my application yet

Hello everyone,

I applied to the UMSON DNP program in late January. My application status changed to Committee Review on 2/24/21 and has been there since. I also applied to the Shady Grove campus and chose the 4 year track. I will update you all on my status once it changes. Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted and good luck to us all still waiting!

Hello all,

I am scheduled to have an interview in a couple weeks for the FNP program. Any tips on what to brush up on for the interview? Any input is much appreciated.

Kayrock, I would check some videos on Youtube that give some tips on how to prepare for the interview (that's what I did)... You can type things like "preparing for NP school interview," etc. I even watched videos on "how to prepare for a job interview," use all the knowledge you can to be well prepared!

Hi all,

I applied to the FNP specialty at Shady Grove and received my acceptance letter on Monday.  My interview was 2/10.  Hope that helps!

Hey congrats! Would you mind sharing what track you applied to? (3 or 4 year?)

When I applied, I wasn't asked which track. They ask that in the interview. I got the distinct impression from my interview that they did not want any one except military students to do the 3 year track. So, my suggestion is during your interview say you'd like the 4 year track. My understanding is that they have students that do the 3 year and drop out so they are very hesitant about letting people do that especially if you have to work (even part-time).  Have you had your interview yet?

Has anyone received information about financial aid awards or scholarships? Do you guys know when we’re supposed to get that info?

No information about financial aid nor information about how to access our "bill," for tuition. Anyone has any insights? Thanks
