Hello Everyone,
I'm new to the site and looking for other students that will be applying to bilingual nursing programs in Puerto Rico. I am looking at UMET & Interamerican University. I was hoping we could help each other out throughout the application process, provide each other with tips and feedback and/or any advice on applying, relocation, nclex questions, etc..
A little about me: I live in NYC and taking my pre-requisites at a local community college. I submitted my applications to both UMET and Inter. I still need to send them my transcripts and course descriptions. so far I have gotten good responses from the directors at both schools, set up appts for campus tours next month. Will keep everyone posted.
Anyone else applying for next year??
Will be flying with a friend over to check out both potential campuses in March 26th -April 1. have emailing and trying to call both offices to make sure they have all my documents, but I guess I better carry back up copies of my transcripts and other documents just in case
hope it went well. :)
Hi everyone,I already applied to Interamericana metro campus in february for the august 2014 classes and had a friend of mine turn in my transcripts when she went to vist some friends in PR about 3 weeks ago. I havent heard anything back yet. I was told they review apps in June. Is that true?
its a possiblity, I know the director has been busy with upcoming finals for the term and graduation :) which is in june
I am thinking about going to school in Puerto Rico also. Since you already work at a hospital do you think it would be frowned upon to do so? Do you know how long the accelerated programs for not UMET and interamericano are?
I got a job at Baptist South Florida which is one of the best hospitals down here and no its not looked down upon. I also had a residency at the VA during my senior there in PR to add to my resume to that helped a lot too.
Hello nycgirl305
Thanks for your posting. I am helping my son look for a nursing school. He is going to graduate next year. He wants to take nursing and I heard that Puerto Rico has a nursing program that are more affordable than here in California. Hopefully you can share your ideas about this school, fees, living arrangement, nclex eligibility, fafsa.
Thank you so much
Hello Bronze 1
Thanks for your posting. I would like to inquire on what can we do, to prepare. My son will finish high school by 6/2015 here in California. Hopefully, you can give us more ideas and any pertinent information that we need to know. How can we request for a brochure of admission packet and or campus tour?
thanks.
