UMET @ Interamerican- Fall 2014

Published

Hello Everyone,

I'm new to the site and looking for other students that will be applying to bilingual nursing programs in Puerto Rico. I am looking at UMET & Interamerican University. I was hoping we could help each other out throughout the application process, provide each other with tips and feedback and/or any advice on applying, relocation, nclex questions, etc..

A little about me: I live in NYC and taking my pre-requisites at a local community college. I submitted my applications to both UMET and Inter. I still need to send them my transcripts and course descriptions. so far I have gotten good responses from the directors at both schools, set up appts for campus tours next month. Will keep everyone posted.

Anyone else applying for next year??

I agree - it really has not been easy to get things completed over the phone and email, I have sent my transcripts/course descriptions priority mail to keep track of my documents and still I receive letters requesting my transcripts again...I guess its just better to fly over with the documents in hand to really get things done.

Will be flying with a friend over to check out both potential campuses in March 26th -April 1. have emailing and trying to call both offices to make sure they have all my documents, but I guess I better carry back up copies of my transcripts and other documents just in case

Thank you all for the advice. :) Best of luck upon visiting the campuses dzcafe!

Dzcafe, pls keep us posted on your trip experience..hope all goes well.

I will keep you posted on trip :)

i will be in Puerto Rico on MArch 25- 31. Do you know what we have to turn in for umet other than transcripts. also, for inter do we have to turn in course catalogs that is what I have read in other forums. thanks for your help

I created a summary of my course descriptions from the college catalogs - cut and paste from the catalogs I sent it with my transcripts - but I am taking two copies of everything with me just in case. I am also taking my immunization records.

are the course catalogs required for umet?

Course catalogs are needed to ensure your classes transfer. If you mail them to umet, you should send copies of the course descriptions that apply to the nursing program and unofficial transcripts. This makes it easier for them to evaluate your courses.

where do i get the course catalogs? from the school I went to? and

what classes should I do it for? my sciences?

dzcafe, I wasnt able to leave you a pm because I dont have

enough responses or something like that. but I wanted to let

you know Im not sure what day I will go visit the school and I am

also traveling with my mom who is an rn.

Hi Amguzman,

Yes you can usually get the course catalogs/descriptions from the school you took the courses at, most of the time its online and you can just print them out. I would send course descriptions for all courses that are requited for the nursing program (general and sciences) UMET website has the nursing program curriculum on their website. Any clases that you have taken that are requited for UMET should be sent to them so that they will transfer over.
