Hello Everyone,
I'm new to the site and looking for other students that will be applying to bilingual nursing programs in Puerto Rico. I am looking at UMET & Interamerican University. I was hoping we could help each other out throughout the application process, provide each other with tips and feedback and/or any advice on applying, relocation, nclex questions, etc..
A little about me: I live in NYC and taking my pre-requisites at a local community college. I submitted my applications to both UMET and Inter. I still need to send them my transcripts and course descriptions. so far I have gotten good responses from the directors at both schools, set up appts for campus tours next month. Will keep everyone posted.
Anyone else applying for next year??
Hi, yáll. My name is Carlos, I am finishing my first year at UMET Bilingual Program. We have been doing our clinicals at the VA. You will get to do you clinicals don't worry about that. A person can get their nursing done here pretty quick and faculty does a good job of advocating for its students.
If you have any questions, I'm here!!!
I would like to encourage anyone considering the Interamericana to seriously think about it before attending. I have a friend who is set to graduate and she recently revealed that she can literally count on her hands the number of times they went to actual clinicals. This sounds distrastrous. Would you want a new grad nurse like that on the floor? More importantly, would you trust yourself and wager someone's life and your license/future livelihood with a potentially inferior nursing education? Plus, the majority of nursing instructors are actually medical doctors. This was NOT the case when I went there. I fear they might be subject to losing their accreditation. So, do some investigating first. In other words, buyer be aware!
Hi everyone,
I already applied to Interamericana metro campus in february for the august 2014 classes and had a friend of mine turn in my transcripts when she went to vist some friends in PR about 3 weeks ago. I havent heard anything back yet. I was told they review apps in June. Is that true?
@jsawyer, I believe we met while I was visiting. I was the one with the
pretty big group. Anyway, Im starting in August 2014 also and looking for a
place to stay, if you can lead me to anyone looking for a roommate or a
nice place to stay that would be awesome. Also, Im looking for a place near the school
and by the train. thanks
I replied at your other thread - I am visiting in April to finish my application process, hope to rent a place near the beach and commute in. I am thinking of shipping my car from Houston. Hopefully we can connect to other students moving to PR for the programs.
if your car is fairly new, I wouldn't suggest shipping it. roads here are ROUGH... most of those who brought them over and just selling them here..

ok, thank you! Some of the course descriptions I cant find on their website. Do you
