  1. Jen_Jen, one other question, do you know when school starts in January like around what date..not anything specific or anything. Also, I got a paper with dates for this semester and it says finals are from 13-16, that lands on a tuesday, what if you have a friday lab?
  2. Just be achy nurse, do you know if california considers Puerto Rico as international?
  3. I have my bachelor's degree already so I won't be getting any grants. Well at least I won't feel as bad if I have to take out both, which I think they will be giving me. And I will continue to call, I just called them today. thanks again for all your help! Hopefully it doesn't take too long and I this will be the only semester I take out both.
  4. thanks jen_jen I did that already. I was told that its going to take some time. I didn't want to take the loans where interest accumulates while in school (subsidized, I think), but I think I may have to because I can only get 3,500 as a first year student..so part has to be subsidized/part unsubsidized. Oh well..at least the interest is only 4 percent..I just hope it doesn't take a year...
  5. Jen, Did you talk to the person in charge of evaluating your transcripts? I hope it doesn't take that long..Im trying to get more in loans and because Im a first year in the system..I can't.
  6. in my experience, admissions was very helpful. I also saw other students being helped by other people, I'm not sure what you are referring to. Again, it does suck that you couldn't talk to her, but I'm sure others are just as competent.
  7. nycgirl, yea you definitely needed to have spoken with the director before going to visit. Im sorry that it wasn't what you expected. are you back from Puerto Rico already? Id suggest leaving your documents with admissions and if you decide to move, you can register for classes up to the 1st day of school, which is aug 20th. Its too bad that you missed the director, but I can tell you that the labs are pretty cool!
  8. dz, have you spoken to the real estate agent lately?
  9. yes I have. You can take the nclex in any state you reside, its not an issue at all. I am learning though that some states consider Puerto Rico as international, so some have gone through Wisconsin.
  10. did you decide what school you're going to?
  11. I have received an acceptance letter for Umet. The process was not difficult at all, just have the pre-reqs done and a 2.5 gap.
  12. so, I found out today that Puerto Rico has restrictions on cats coming in. The rabies vaccine must be at least 6 months past and she's never had a rabies vaccine, so we can't take her with us, at least not for now. I am kind of sad about it, I hope she will be ok my in-laws for six months. thanks all for the advice!
  13. thank you caroladybelle, I have been in touch with my airline. Southwest does not require a health certificate, only pay a fee and she has to go in an airline approved carrier. I am just worried about how she will take it on the plane as she has never traveled before. Would you recommend sedating if its her first time?
  14. adorno even if it is horrible, at the moment the reality is that we cannot afford to buy a car and my car is too old to ship to pr. So for now, we will have to deal with not having a car, maybe after the xmas break we can afford one. What is the average price for a car?
  15. I will be moving with a cat. I just wasnt sure if it was a good idea as fas as the cat goes, like if she will be ok during the flight and I am still a little worried about finding an apartment. Well, wish me luck. oh, and yes I have read that cats can go in the cabin under your seat
