Hello Everyone,
I'm new to the site and looking for other students that will be applying to bilingual nursing programs in Puerto Rico. I am looking at UMET & Interamerican University. I was hoping we could help each other out throughout the application process, provide each other with tips and feedback and/or any advice on applying, relocation, nclex questions, etc..
A little about me: I live in NYC and taking my pre-requisites at a local community college. I submitted my applications to both UMET and Inter. I still need to send them my transcripts and course descriptions. so far I have gotten good responses from the directors at both schools, set up appts for campus tours next month. Will keep everyone posted.
Anyone else applying for next year??
Hi, yáll. My name is Carlos, I am finishing my first year at UMET Bilingual Program. We have been doing our clinicals at the VA. You will get to do you clinicals don't worry about that. A person can get their nursing done here pretty quick and faculty does a good job of advocating for its students. If you have any questions, I'm here!!!
Hi Carlos, I am thinking of starting at UMET Bayamon or Inter this August 2014, could you please describe your experience in a bit more detail? What has your first year been like? The furthest i have been from home is from southern california to northern california, so i am a bit nervous about relocating.
I also need clarification on the classes getting cancelled, i read on here somewhere that if enough students dont show up for UMET class, they cancel it til next semester? Is this still true for 2013-2014 year?
So it seems everyone is in the middle of finals which is why the lack of responses? I have one very urgent question:
[h=2]Certificado de Antecedentes Penales - I sent my online request to the PR.gov police website, it was submitted on 5/19, I called the police department today and i was told they have up to 60,000 applicants they have to process.... On the other hand, i was told i can receive the results in the same day if i showed up in person. I had no intention to go to PR way before my class registration, but i need to ask any current/former students if you had to go to the Police Dept. yourself to obtain this because the online version will never be received in the short amount of time (even though their website says 7-14 business days).
I need this urgent because i have a prior DUI on my record and It would be a waste to start the program then be unable to attend clinicals... Please Help ....
UMET campus told me i dont have to worry, it wont show up, but INTER on the other hand is constantly transferring me to one admissions person to the next nursing staff etc...

Just for clarification, UMET is the University of Turabo right? I have been trying to contact them but they are not responding. They keep hanging up on me. I believe I applied but I am not sure because the application was so short. It was more like a survey. Can someone please send me the link if they have it. Also I saw there was only 52 credits for the nursing section. Am I the only one seeing that?
