OK, so the rules have changed, and CPD is no longer enough.
I'm wondering about how to achieve the "reflective discussion" part when there are no UK registered nurses where I work.
So, all expat Brits, please let me know how you plan to maintain your NMC registration. Is anyone agreeable to contacting me, with a view to maybe planning an email/Skype discussion that we both can document?
I'm in Chicago btw, so if there are any other UK nurses here, we can meet in Panera instead : )
There does not seem to be anyway around this.
Perhaps you need to apply at a local university and complete your nursing course in China. You may get some credit for study already done which will bring down the cost and the time.
I know it is not ideal but perhaps this is the only way to have a career in nursing.

Thank you, I will explore a bit more. Really appreicated.
Its four years since I started this thread, time to revalidate again!
Is there anyone who has time to do the Professional Discussion with me?
I work in ER in the midwest, if that helps, I can screenshot the five reflective thingies to you and then we talk, either on the phone or a video call program.

Hi Skylark, we may need to plan timings as I'm in the UK but happy to help
Thank you onedream.
The midwest is the collective names for the US states around the lakes, so basically North Dakota to Ohio.
I'm 6 hours behind UK time, and I think that Australia is 16 hours ahead from here. I occasionally zoom call a friend there, and its always Wednesday for me which is Thursday for her!
I'm talking already with XB9S, and I think we should be able to schedule a zoom, as my time difference to hers is just 6 hours.
But if for any reason it doesn't happen, I might need to get back to you!
Hello,
I’m a UK nurse working in Florida and need to re-new my NMC registration and as part of the process require a confirmer to discuss reflective accounts and sign off on discussion form.
I have completed my reflective accounts and my license renewal is due end of March 2022.
Is there anyone who could help with the reflective accounts discussions and sign off?
I would be happy to be a confirmer for anyone who needs help with their renewal.
Hello everyone,
I am a nurse based in Hong Kong and also NMC registered. My revalidation will be due this May and I am in the same situation as other fellow nurses here :the absolute difficulty to find a reflective discussion partner who has a valid NMC pin from where I live and is willing the sign the form—— as part of the revalidation procedure (!).
I am wondering if I’ll be lucky enough to find somebody here for help? I’ll be absolutely happy to help others who are in the same situation.
Have a good day!
