Hi People
I am a UK born citizen trained in Australia hence I am going via the overseas trained route. I passed my CBT test and am in the full application and assessment stage.
I am interested in sharing information with people who are also in this stage of the application.
I commenced my application in 2013 under the old process which was rejected due to lack of clinical hours. I received a letter from NMC advising me of the new process. Like many people on this forum, this entire process has been long, drawnout, frustrating and tedious for me!!!!!!!
hi all...its been 7 weeks since i went on the queue after resubmission of additional documents, and still no decision letter yet...i called NMC to check the progress early this week, only to be informed by the agent...my file is still in the queue and they have not started assessing it yet...looks like i am in for a long wait..its been a year trying to get registered its proving very difficult...
Anyone who got their decision lately...or this week...thats the only thing that keeps me going...it gives me hope that i will get mine some day....
Hi Dee, I have just had to re up-load my documents as my file somehow disappeared - they have just notified me saying that assessments are made within 70 days providing they have all the information. It will be almost three years since this journey began for me and it has been a very stressful time. Good luck with yours :)
@sherry000haven't practiced since I came here and that's almost 5 yrs now. I have my DL already and will be taking osce next month. :)
Thanks for all the responds
Did they mention to do any extra hours on a supernumerary basis before taking the OSCE. I was told by my NHS trust that we might have to do extra hours as one of the requirement to become registered is to work 450 hours in last 3 years.
Thank you...

Thanks...that really helps...I really don't know what to expect with them anymore....I will just give them 3 more weeks and hope for the best...we will get through someday...and will have a laugh about all these experiences one day...
Good luck with yours, all the best....

Nope. They just gave me my DL then i proceeded with booking for my OSCE. I don't know though if they will require something else later. but then, if we'll hopefully pass both CBT and OSCE, that would at least prove that we still have the knowledge and skills of being a nurse.
Quick Question for those of you who have made it passed the assessment stage and on to the OSCE:
(I am now into the 10th week of the decision period.)
Did the NMC send you an email giving their official decision, or have you been just checking your online NMC account? I understand that they also send an actual letter in the mail, but I am a bit confused at the sequence of events here..
Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! :)

If you haven't got a confirmation email I don't know how good the chances are, hopefully it works out though. Have you heard from them yet?
I complained to the university and they've given me another date option for the 18th, so I've taken that now. i'm not sure if they've added that to the portal or not, but I have got the confirmation email and finally have access to the learning portal.
