  1. At last, after nearly three years I have finally received some good news - decision letter came today :)
  2. Dear UK Gal, that is fantastic news, you must be so relieved. Let's hope I hear something soon :)
  3. @Ash Many congratulations, hopefully the NMC will now allow more of us well deserving nurses to get through and continue to do the job we love :)
  4. There doesn't appear to be any comments regarding feedback from those who have taken the OSCE - lots of people have asked how it was and for advice but I can't see any responses, are these comments being removed by this site perhaps?
  5. Sherry, it is three years this month since I last worked as a registered nurse in Australia ......
  6. Hi Dee, I have just had to re up-load my documents as my file somehow disappeared - they have just notified me saying that assessments are made within 70 days providing they have all the information. It will be almost three years since this journey began for me and it has been a very stressful time. Good luck with yours :)
  7. Hi fespillane, sorry to hear about your problems at Northampton University. Good to know though that they are giving us Aussie nurses the go ahead now, I also trained in Melbourne but am still battling with the NMC. Good luck with your OSCE :)
  8. Just received this email from NMC ...... OMG this was done in March, has anyone else had this email? So apparently my complete file has been lost Following a technical error with our system, please can you re-upload your documents to the online portal and submit your application. When you have done this, please respond to this email.
  9. Hi UK Gal yes you are right, there has been some confusion with the Transcript of Training and the Academic Transcript. My university did not supply this, maybe they were confused too! The Academic Transcript was sent to NMC. What is even more confusing though is the lady who emailed me keeps calling the form I sent the Transcript of Training !! I did state in my last email to my university that it has to come from them with original signature and university stamp etc so am now just waiting. With regards to the unit descriptions, I was just going to send them anyway while I was waiting as I'm at the stage now where I will send them anything extra!! Surely they couldn't query downloads from an official University web site???? It's frustrating waiting for documents when you are in another country....... And so the waiting continues
  10. Hi UK Gal my university fully completed the theoretical and clinical hours on the form to accompany transcript of training. What they are asking for is hours for each individual subject. I have asked the university for this but went onto the Monash website this week and they have archived handbooks with all unit descriptions and hours so I am thinking that I'll just print off the lot of them and send them. They have accused me of not sending in original document too which I find highly insulting when I know for a fact that I have. I asked for my degree certificate from my previous application to be transferred over to the new system. They said it was a copy, which it was, but it had been certified by a solicitor. The first one I sent in that had been certified by my bank but they wouldn't accept that and practically accused me of tampering with it...... .??? They also said that to transfer the certificate would take time and that they would have to ask for it again during the assessment stage, I'm really confused about what they mean and have emailed for an explanation. I might just bite the bullet and get some more certified copies to send, got to see my doctor for my health form anyway and send in a UK police check, probably will then have to apply for another Aussie police check even though I left in 2012 - so whats a few more quid after the hundreds it has already cost me?? Good luck with everything and keep in touch :)
  11. Hello UK Gal just wondering how your application is going? I am in a similar situation, I am English and lived in Australia and trained in Melbourne at Monash University and returned to UK November 2012. Since then it has been a continuous battle beginning with the IELTs. I questioned why non EU nurses had to take it when EU nurses did not. You can't win so I just paid the money to sit it to get the application process started. In November 2013 I received my decision letter stating I did not have the required number of hours. I have written to my MP and also had contact from The House Of commons about this, they replied to me stating that the NMC is an independent body and there is nothing that can be done - the whole process is just so insulting and pedantic. When the new system was launched I was ecstatic and certainly did not envisage another nightmare scenario but here I still am nearly ten months later. The latest contact was asking for hours for each unit I studied as on my transcript it just says credits which apparently is not acceptable. Does your degree certificate state hours next to your subject? Also the health form which was completed by The Occupational Health Department of the NHS Trust hospital where I worked needs to be re submitted to clarify if they were my employer?? I swear they just look for any little thing to prolong the process. This has caused me a great deal of stress over the years not to mention the loss of potential earnings. I am so close to giving up but my natural tenacious nature is spurring me along. Would love to hear back from you and to share stories. Wishing you lots of luch, all the best :)
