Hi People
I am a UK born citizen trained in Australia hence I am going via the overseas trained route. I passed my CBT test and am in the full application and assessment stage.
I am interested in sharing information with people who are also in this stage of the application.
I commenced my application in 2013 under the old process which was rejected due to lack of clinical hours. I received a letter from NMC advising me of the new process. Like many people on this forum, this entire process has been long, drawnout, frustrating and tedious for me!!!!!!!
Hi Everyone!
I wanted to say thank you for all the advice and honesty on this thread. It's really kept me going the past few weeks - knowing I'm not incompetent at paper work and the NMC is as nightmarish as I thought! I started my application just over 2 years ago. I've been in the UK the whole time because of my husband's job and I have been super frustrated!!! I trained in Australia and was told I was about 200 hours short of practical hours so I would have to apply in the new system (This was after they told me they would count my midwifery hours and decided 6 months later that they wouldn't!!).
I started in the new system in February and have had problems with documents needing to be resubmitted etc etc. BUT I was able to do my OSCE on Monday and found out today that I passed!!!! Seriously can't believe this is the end...well it's the end when the NMC site starts working again so I can pay for the registration! Guess that's their final insult haha.
I was a bit worried before the test because no one online had said they passed hence why I'm letting you know it's possible. You're all going to make it!!
Also sorry to hear some of you had a bad experience with the University of Northampton - they were lovely to me and all the issues I had were sorted out very promptly when I called them. Everyone on the test day were awesome too.
Good luck friends!

Afro3726,
Please share your experience with us. A general overview of what to expect during the test would be very helpful.
Thanks.

Assessment time is 30-90 days.. And once they've assessed your documents they will send you an email about it. It will also say on the email to check your portal and from there you can download and print your decision letter.
