I am a UK born citizen trained in Australia hence I am going via the overseas trained route. I passed my CBT test and am in the full application and assessment stage.
I am interested in sharing information with people who are also in this stage of the application.
I commenced my application in 2013 under the old process which was rejected due to lack of clinical hours. I received a letter from NMC advising me of the new process. Like many people on this forum, this entire process has been long, drawnout, frustrating and tedious for me!!!!!!!
would've worked in the US too if not for the retrogession. Applied in 2005 but my visa application became current in 2012. By that time my family's already here in uk. Atm, hubby's working his profession and i'll hopefully get my pin soon.. So, we've decided to stay here. i just feel bad for what you've experienced with nmc and i'm sure it would be their loss for not having you work as RN here. If they only knew how frustrating it is working with some nurses here..
anyone here who submitted their saudi council verification of license was "received resubmission"? does NMC require to submit it again and WHY?? knowing the difficulties of having this processed and that saudi council isn't filling up forms anymore.. what shall i do now?? help plss...

hi Panda...congrats on receiving your DL...when did you go on the assessment queue...myself still waiting...its agonizing, i was asked for additional documents after almost 10 weeks of waiting for my DL. I resubmitted my documents and went in the assessment queue on the 3rd of July....this is my 6th week of waiting. i called nmc the day before yesterday to enquire about the progress and i was told...its on the queue and they have not started assessing it...and reminded it could take up to 70 working days...it doesny matter if is queuing for tge 2nd time or 3rd time..this is really fustrating...i am at the verge of giving...i a transitioning from the old system...so its been a year now trying to get registered with no progress...

Has anyone else got screwed over by Northampton University?
I originally booked for September 2nd and they sent me an email a few days later to say it has been moved to the 3rd of September (no apologies offered) I had already booked a hire care, so i postponed that for the 3rd of September incurring a small fee, and I re-booked on the portal.
Today I received another email to say the September 2nd has been cancelled ( as I was already aware), so i checked whether they meant the 2nd or 3rd was cancelled as i had re-booked for the 3rd. They replied saying the 3rd was never an option. I sent back a screenshot of the email they sent to confirm the 3rd, still no apologies, they just state 'human error'.
They are now saying next available dates are the 8th (I have a trip booked which I made plans after my exam was booked) or the 28th.

I was!!! I was booked for Sept 9th, they said they no longer have that date so now I had to move the 28th…
Hi fespillane, sorry to hear about your problems at Northampton University. Good to know though that they are giving us Aussie nurses the go ahead now, I also trained in Melbourne but am still battling with the NMC. Good luck with your OSCE :)

I thought they were finally letting aussies through, but it just seems to be jumping through hoops now. I just want to work as a nurse so badly. Thanks thoug, hopefully you progress soon too!
Me too! Booked for sept 26 but cancelled. Rebooked to sept 29.. Cancelled again.. Booked again for sept 28 but i haven't got the confirmation nor the link.. Called uni earlier but the person assigned with osce was in a meeting.. Will probably call again tomorrow for the link. :)
I know, i did the same, and decided I would just work on the bank, and wouldn't go for another full time job, as I understood where they were coming from.. but at the same time... i could have been working full time for 2 years!!!! Such a nightmare! No one believes you, i am constantly telling the same story to people and my patients, and they are just shocked!!! But we need nurses they say.... yeah well they are all freaking here working as HCAs etc!!
