Hi People
I am a UK born citizen trained in Australia hence I am going via the overseas trained route. I passed my CBT test and am in the full application and assessment stage.
I am interested in sharing information with people who are also in this stage of the application.
I commenced my application in 2013 under the old process which was rejected due to lack of clinical hours. I received a letter from NMC advising me of the new process. Like many people on this forum, this entire process has been long, drawnout, frustrating and tedious for me!!!!!!!
Hi CharliePlus...like you I am a UK citizen as well, but I studied in the US. I refused to change over to the new system, because the NMC lost my documents twice. I too understand your frustration. This process has brought me to my knees and truly has made me think if I want to practice nursing here at all. I can tell you some horror stories of working as a care assistant and the xenophobic prejudice treatment I have received. But I am determined, as I do have a right to be here...sorry my accent has left.
I started my Supervised clinical placement with my local trust and my ONP starts next week. My uni is doing the course every 3 months, until the end of the year. Are you in the southwest? Send me a PM and I can give you more information. Hang tight...we will be the best nurses this nation has ever seen because of our global experience!!!
I was given that date as well. They told me that on their file, my papers were officially received on April 28th.
This better be true cos this waiting game is killing me softly. NMC also advised me they got all my documentations last April 28. I just find it unfair for us who waited and took the exam ahead but still empty handed. Anyway, we don't have any other option.

I know and can empathize with your frustration, especially considering that Ive been following the progress of your papers (knowing that your one of the few people who completed the CBT early this year). Well hopefully we get some news soon.

Hahaha! I know. And I'm looking forward to the day wherein well just laugh at the things that made us suffer. Anyway, I called NMC twice today and they advised that the decision will be out in a week altho I'm highly skeptical about that.
Congrats Khaleesi0203, that surely brings my hope back. I called the NMC this week and i was told i will get an email with NMC decision within the next 2 weeks, I am keeping my fingers crossed.
Please keep us updated with any developments like OSCE preparation and stuff like that.
Once again Congrats...
Hi Everyone,
I just want to give you an update about my NMC registration. I am now about to take the OSCE, the NMC decision came to me last May 9th (sorry if it has taken me this long to write here, but I've been away). Sent all my docs during the last week of Feb and they received and assessed it mid-March. However, they required me to update one of my references so I had my application updated and had to wait another 15 working days for them to reassess which led me getting their decision on the 1st week of May.
At this point, I thought I had gotten over waiting until I was informed and realized that my employer at Colchester was yet to apply for a permit to sponsor applicants here in the Phil and my agency told me that it would take a few months for them to do that. I was so bummed since it would mean that I had to wait to take the OSCE, because I cannot take the OSCE without a certificate of sponsorship (working visa requirement).
I assume that everyone who was considered by the hospital at Colchester was informed about the local agency's plan B here (transfer their application to another hospital in Chelmsford)
So, my question to everyone here is that - does authorization to take the OSCE have a validity period, if so, how long? (I remember that there was a required timeline for the assessment stage but I'm not sure for this stage, and I'm sorry for bringing this up here I have asked NMC but they just haven't responded yet.)
Another thing is that, since I'm considering of finding other employers- perhaps anybody can refer me to one. I would be very interested to an employer within London, but those in the greater part of London or UK are appreciated as well.
Thank you so much! I know that I have gotten a little out of the context of this thread but I really just want to reach out. I hope the admin won't kick me out for this :)
By the way, feel free to send in your suggestions at nicoledelros(at)gmail(dot)com. Thanks!
Dear khaleesi0203
Congrats on receiving your decision letter. I am assuming the notification came by post. Did you receive any email confirmation?
Are you still able to log onto your account? If so does it say anything about your status?
I will now be waiting patiently by my letterbox for that DL!!!!!

Dear @UK Gal
It's by Email, and your decision letter is downloadable by your account once you access it.

Hi Hellsing, BSN, RN
I was not given any information about batches. I just worked out that many people were given 28 APRIL as the date when all their documents were received and uploaded. This is regardless of when they submitted them.
