UF Generic BSN 2011

Hey any pre-nursing students out there who applied for UF Generic BSN fall 2011... i didn't see a thread out there so i figured i would start my own. If there are any current nursing students any advice and what was your GPA getting into the program. Thanks a lot and good luck to everyone.

Yeah I can't believe UCF did that but hopefully you will get into UF. My overall GPA is a 3.89 and my prereq GPA is a 4.0 so for FGCU I was at the top of the selections for this years program but I don't think I will be for UF.

Wow that's great. I was going to apply for fgcu spring term but the deadline is may 15th and I don't have much time to apply to the school itself and everything. Plus I took the teas version v and barely got a 70...its so hard! How did you do on it?

I got a 72% adjusted individual score and I was really concerned I wasn't going to get in with that low of a grade but my advisor told me that the higher the GPA, the lower your score can be because they kind of balance themselves out. It was really hard and I almost cried when I found out my score because I thought I ruined all chances of getting in for fall.

I applied to UF too, and I met an advisor.

He told me that there are about 120~130 seats in generic BSN program. However, he said that about 110~120 seats are for UF stuents and only 10~20 seats are for transfer students. He also gave me an information that usually 800~900 students applied for generic BSN program every year.

I'm so nervous. I've heard that decisions are usually out early June but my transcript isn't processed into the UF system yet!

Are any of you guys transferring credits from another school or out of state? And how long did it take? Any ideas to speed it up?

Hello! That is strange that your transcript status hasn't been updated--call or e-mail to see why it's taking so long/if they received them. I am an applicant from California, and my transcripts were updated within two weeks of sending them.

http://www.admissions.ufl.edu/ugrad/trstatus.html --> Check Your Status at UF (brown-ish color box on the left) --> continue --> log into your gator link account --> and there it is! It has a "transcripts received" box that lists all your transcripts and the date that they got them. Hope that helps! I hope you already have your gator link set up; it was kind of confusing, but you can do it.
