UF Generic BSN 2011

Hey any pre-nursing students out there who applied for UF Generic BSN fall 2011... i didn't see a thread out there so i figured i would start my own. If there are any current nursing students any advice and what was your GPA getting into the program. Thanks a lot and good luck to everyone.

My pre-req gpa was 3.6 with one still in progress. (I got A's in everything except chemistry, which screwed my gpa because I got a C and it was a five unit class). I got my hopes up, and then was really shocked when I got a letter instead of a packet. :-(. I'm sorry to hear that you haven't gotten in anywhere else. Where else did you apply?

I applied to ucf, unf for summer, fsu, and uf. What about yourself?

Umass Boston, fsu, uf, Seattle u, u Maryland, and lynchburg college.

Oh wow, I really wish I had applied out of state, but I guess I never thought id be in this position. This year, ucf (where I go) didn't give their own students priority so there's lots of ucf students like me with crappy luck lol. Have you gotten in anywhere yet?

UCF didn't give its students priority? That's frustrating! What's the motivation for going there for two years pre-nursing then? You could have easily taken your thousands of dollars in tuition elsewhere. Sounds like a mistake on their part. They could loose out on future students because of that.

I know, its unbelievably frustrating and had I known that ahead of time, I would have gone to another university. It's all so overwhelming...ugh! Hating ucf now lol

UMass Boston! But it's a 2.5 year clinical, minimum, and I was hoping for a straight two year program. So my fingers are crossed for U Maryland & U of Fl!

Aww well goodluck...at least you got in somewhere already, Congrats! I really have my fingers crossed for uf too...but I'm a transfer so once again, less chance Haha. Have to remain hopeful though!

I applied for the Generic BSN program as well but I don't think I am going to get in since when I went and spoke with an advisor, she told me that transfer students from Universities with BSN programs get last priority. I am currently at FGCU and was accepted into their program for the fall. I would love to go to UF if I did get accepted but I have a full ride at FGCU so I don't know what I will do if I do get into UF's program. I just want to find out!!!

That sucks that we are last priority as transfers bc I totally got screwed by my own school (ucf) who didn't take priority to their own students. In my opinion its bull. But what can we do lol. Congrats in getting in somewhere girl! What's your gpa?
