Hello!
I noticed that there isn't a thread yet for all of us who are thinking about applying next summer for UF's Accelerated BSN. I know it's only June but I can't be the only one who is already stressing about the application process, the essays, not being good enough, etc. ?
Hopefully this thread can be a place where we can ask questions and support each other throughout the process!
A little about me: I currently attend UF as a Health Education major and would love to stay here and study at the Gainesville campus, but if I get into the Jacksonville one I will gladly go there! They're also requiring the HESI exam this year and I was wondering if anyone knew any tips and tricks. I've only ever heard of the TEAS! I find it so interesting that this one tests our anatomy/physio knowledge, but also kinda frightening because anatomy at UF was a nightmare for me LOL.
Good luck ya'll! We got this!
For the person asking about missing time at the beginning of the program: I am not a current student, but from everything I've heard, it's not a good idea to ever get behind in this kind of a condensed, fast-paced program. IMO, it is best to forfeit the vacation time to make sure you start off well - sorry:(
If it's not finalized yet or a small group of family, perhaps they could go a little earlier or delay it til you're between semesters?
Can anyone please clarify two things for me (both NursingCAS related):
1) the personal statement section is ONLY for the essay responses, right? I.e., we don't have to do the responses and a Statement of Purpose essay.
2) For the "personal/academic" letters of recommendation requirement, are they actually asking for a personal letter (i.e. from a friend/relative)?? I always thought that was considered a no-no. As of now, I have 3 academic letters from professors and 1 professional letter from my boss.
Thanks:)

Correct. At least that's how it was last year.

Yes, professional or academic.

I submitted mine and there are green checks next to everything so I assumed it was good... they got my official transcripts automatically because I currently attend UF and I called the lady and she said now they just send it onto the CON and it’s up to them from there on out.
When in doubt, call admissions. They are super helpful and will help you get everything in order. I think I called them 3 times to make sure they had everything ?

Hey! I have not heard anything yet, but like you mentioned, last year they were sent emails around dec19! I’m super anxious too! I guess we’ll find out this week hopefully ?

I emailed Ken awhile back and he said as long as you used the UF code associated with the exam and therefore had UF listed as your school, the scores will be sent via email on your behalf after the December 1st deadline! He said you can also put the scores in the HESI section of NursingCAS to be safe I guess!
