When in doubt, call admissions. They are super helpful and will help you get everything in order. I think I called them 3 times to make sure they had everything

    Yes, professional or academic.

I really wouldn’t plan on that. There are exams almost weekly, quizzes, participation grades... if you fall behind, it’s really hard to come back. i don’t think they would accommodate make up exams for a vacation honestly

There is no confirmation until you are accepted in the program. Just make sure there are no alerts/missing info.

Last year they said there were over 1,000 applicants for both campuses. About 100-110 are accepted in Gainesville, 40 in Jax.

Just to give you an idea of the schedule, this semester we have clinicals on Mondays, sometimes 6:30am-2:30pm, sometimes evenings for psych. Tuesdays are for exams or extra labs, usually 10-12, 2-4. Wednesdays we have class 8-4, Thursdays class 8-5, Fridays are for exams.

I don’t think applying early makes your application that more competitive. I would put more thought into writing great essays rather than trying to get them in early Jax has less spots than Gainesville, about 40 for Jax and I think around 100 for Gainesville. Besides these odds, I’m really not sure how placements were decided.

There are services to which we should technically have access that only exist in Gainesville (student services, gym, bus services... I mean we are technically paying for all of that). And the amenities/CSESaR lab here on campus are dated and probably not as top-of-the-line as the ones in Gainesville. However, I cannot say that any of it has had an impact on my schooling. I seriously love the program. I'm sure other students feel differently about this, this is pretty subjective. We have a small cohort, which I really like. Our professors are awesome, I sincerely love all of them (which, of course, is super personal and will vary greatly person to person), and I feel like our smaller cohort (39 people in our class vs twice as many in GVL) really helps with the personalized quality of the teaching. edited to add: We do have access to free mental health services for UF student and UF staff right there on campus.

Forgot to mention I’m at the Jax campus. I’ll be able to answer more specifically about Jacksonville.

Hey there! I’m currently a student in the 2019 cohort. I’m happy to answer questions about the program! We did not have the HESI requirement, so I can’t really help with that part. If you have specific questions about your application, you’ll want to email Kenneth Foote, who’s currently the academic advisor for all tracks since Kenneth Wynn isn’t here anymore. Good luck everyone!

I’m not a former UF student and I could not access the trainings either.

I got the “glitch” email too and another confirming that I was indeed going to Jax.

I’m so excited to hear about a mentor group for new students. Is that something you guys had when you started? Or is this a new initiative? Looking forward to hearing about it all!
