UF accelerated BSN Summer 2019

Published

Hello!

It's only May but I am already working on getting my ducks in a row for the Post-bacc application. I thought it would be nice to start a thread so applicants can support each other through the process! I know I have a million questions already and I am trying hard not to pester admissions.

I am so excited to be almost done with my prerequisites and I am looking forward to finally applying this Fall!

I would love to hear about everyone's background, projects, questions, and hopefully we can help each other out.

Good luck to all! We got this!

I'm in JAX, too! Will likely be looking for an apartment.

Any jax individuals looking for a roommate I would definitely be interested! Please PM me, and I can give you my name to add me on FB so we can talk. ?

How early are we able to start applying for scholarships specific to the college of nursing? I noticed that there are quite a few on UF's scholarship search, but they said to contact the school of nursing. I was just wondering how soon we could ask the college of nursing for applications.

I was also accepted to JAX (my only preference). Super excited to meet y'all!

One of the mentors just answered this, editing just to say take a peek at the previous page!

I am still waiting for an appeal response as well.

Good Morning,

We appreciate you applying to the Accelerated BSN program at the University of Florida. Our nursing program is highly competitive and limited access. We have changed our admissions approach due to the high caliber of nursing applicants where we have adopted a holistic admissions approach which includes an assessment and essay scoring of your personal statement.

Each aspect of your application is thoroughly evaluated and taken into consideration. This year we had a very high volume of highly competitive applicants who applied and geared their application materials to reflect our holistic admissions approach.

Unfortunately, our program has limited seats for such a large applicant pool and numerous highly competitive applicants did not gain admittance into our program this year. We encourage you to reapply next year as you are more than welcomed to do so.

You also have the option apply to other nursing institutions if the field of nursing is truly your passion and ultimate goal. We wish you the best of luck as you progress forward towards attaining your goals and being an exceptional professional in the workforce or nursing field.

Hey folks,

Again, let me congratulate you all on making it this far! Unfortunately, we are unable to email out a link to the Facebook page for the ABSN Jax Class of 2020; therefore, I am posting the link below. Please only navigate to the link if you are accepting the invitation for the UF ABSN program in Jacksonville. People from our campus will continue to answer questions on this allnurses board, if you are still unsure/weighing out your options. Thanks so much!

Hi all!!!

I finally got a chance to post and just wanted to say CONGRATS to each of you who made it in!! It's been a pleasure answering some of your questions throughout this process and I am so very excited to continue to work with each of you within in the coming months. Please continue messaging me privately if you need anything or feel free to add me on Facebook!

For those of you who didn't make it, please do not give up! Nursing is competitive but do not let that deter you if this is the career path you 100% want! I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors!

i was curious if anyone who was accepted is also waiting to hear from other schools? if so, have you confirmed your acceptance to UF or no, since you might go somewhere else?

Miranda, I was going to apply to FAU, but since I got accepted to UF I decided not to apply! You're waiting on UNF, right? Or was it JU?

I am waiting on UNF!

I don't want to pay the deposit yet but I am scared that if I don't do it right now my spot will be taken (even though the email said the deposit isn't due until March 22!)

I emailed Kenneth about the confirmation being confirmed and the deposit and all he said was to "pay the deposit asap" so I am a little nervous about the urgency!

any advice????
