  1. I am not sure! They didn't go into detail about that. Both campuses have their pros and cons honestly.
  2. Hi everyone! I am a current student in Jax. Feel free to message me if you have any questions. Expect decisions on Feb 26 AFTER 5 pm. They do it on purpose so that they aren't in the office. One of the professors explained the admission process to me and it is VERY holistic. There is a rubric for every item you submit and you are scored for each item till you have a final total. All the totals are put into a spreadsheet and whoever is above the cutoff line for how many they can admit are admitted. While this program can be frustrating and disorganized, I think almost all nursing programs are like that especially with COVID. I wouldn't change where I went at all as employers want to hire UF nurses, and we have AMAZING clinical experiences compared to the other schools in the area. Best of luck everyone!!
  3. That would be very difficult as most of the classes are during the day, and clinical is also during the morning/early afternoon. I worked 20-35 hours a week at times, but I worked a 3-11 shift. I believe the only reason I got through working that many hours was because I was a night person so I did schoolwork when I got home, and I worked at a retirement home so when I got the residents to sleep I would study and work on homework. I highly recommend a job like that! It not only helped me clinically, but having the time to study at work helped a ton. If it wasn't for the down time at work I would've never been able to work nearly full-time. It is a very demanding program, and there are a lot of outside activities from the classroom so scheduling can be hard so finding a job that will understand is crucial too. Hope that helps!
  4. Any jax individuals looking for a roommate I would definitely be interested! Please PM me, and I can give you my name to add me on FB so we can talk. ?
  5. Thanks so much!
  6. Current students - I can’t seem to find the answer for the ABSN route as the tuition is a little confusing. How much is the program or per semester how much have you had to pay? Just trying to prepare and get an estimate. ?
  7. https://admissions.ufl.edu/appstatus I used this link. @SilentNightingale is correct there is no luck with where we were placed because it just says a simple admitted to the post-bac you applied for. I thought maybe there would be a new status for everyone.
  8. For those of you who haven't heard anything, I saw my official admission letter was uploaded to my post-bac application status portal. You may want to check there to see if a new message is available regarding a status update. I'm super sorry some of you are still worrying! I can't imagine not knowing all weekend. Hopefully tomorrow everything gets sorted out. ?
  9. Omg I got into the Jacksonville campus!! Congrats to everyone!! Looking forward to meeting everyone.
  10. I have not heard anything about us finding out sooner, but I also have had that lingering thought since our assessments were due back so early compared to the previous year. I have this hope that they come out tomorrow since UF is releasing their freshman admit decisions tomorrow. Probably won't happen, but hey we can hope! ?
  11. It felt like a whole year! I kept looking at the calendar like when is January going to end. ?
  12. Happy decision month everyone! ??
  13. I'm absolutely terrified! You're definitely not alone. I just keep trying to tell myself that a year can fly by, and we will be studying and practicing what we love in clinical and class so it shouldn't feel terrible. Plus, it'll be way worth it in the end!! ?
  14. HI! I just want to thank you for all your helpful insight about the admissions process. I hope you're loving the program at UF! I just had a quick question - are there many out-of-state students? I'm starting to feel discouraged about being an out-of-state applicant as I've noticed from previous years most applicants stated they lived in Florida/went to UF previously. I made the move to Jacksonville after my bachelor's degree, but I went back to Illinois for my master's since the school I received my bachelor's from offered to pay for it (I couldn't pass that up) lol. Thank you again for all of your help!
  15. I just noticed the freshman admission decisions are coming out on February 8. I wish our decisions were then! Fingers crossed it’ll be earlier than the 22nd since our assessments were due earlier than usual. This wait feels like forever. ?
