  1. Congratulations to everyone who got in! Below is the link to the facebook group for the Jacksonville Cohort ONLY: https://www.facebook.com/groups/521210735197367/ Gainesville peeps, I'm sure your mentors will get in touch soon.
  2. The Jacksonville Mentors have made a facebook group for the incoming cohort. Please wait just a little more - we'll be sending the link out soon! Congratulations!
  3. Regarding wait-list: I'm not sure how they do it, but last year we had a few people offered a spot as late as the week of orientation (first week of May). My suspicion is that some people who had originally accepted suddenly dropped out and a spot was vacant.
  4. Hey, 2021 hopefuls! Again, current 2020 student here. I'm sorry to hear you guys didn't get results last week -- I can only imagine the anxiety you're feeling! As difficult as it may be, try to do things to calm and center yourselves. If you made it this far, it's because you have great potential. UF College of Nursing seems to take a comprehensive and holistic approach to selecting students. While a good GPA makes you competitive, and health care experience is nice, that's not all that they look at. I was an English major that worked as a teacher in Japan, then worked in translation and later cultural affairs for 4 years. My only healthcare "experience" was volunteering at a hospital on Saturdays for about a year. All that said, keep in mind that there are always more qualified applicants than there are positions in any competitive program. If for some reason you don't get selected on Friday, DO NOT let this discourage you from your goals. If you really want to be a nurse, you can definitely make it happen. I recommend you all find something that makes you happy/helps you de-stress each day this week. Some ideas: meditation, yoga, dinner with a friend, reading a good book, doing a face mask, watching a new movie or a silly, old favorite.
  5. Hello, ABSN hopefuls! I'm a current student at the Jax campus. I remember being just as jittery and anxious to know the decision this time last year. We (students) haven't heard anything regarding the release date, but hopefully it's this Friday. If anyone has questions about the program in Jax, I'm happy to help!
  6. @crnameplease, I just sent you a message, check your inbox. ?
  7. Rebeccabecca, I can only imagine how you're feeling now, but don't give up on your dream! I'd be happy to talk with you via PM. Just send me a message!
  8. For those moving to JAX - Myself and 2 other girls (also absn nursing students) plan to rent at a 4 bed/4 bath, furnished apartment, and are looking for a 4th roommate! Let me know if you're interested!
  9. Miranda, I was going to apply to FAU, but since I got accepted to UF I decided not to apply! You're waiting on UNF, right? Or was it JU?
  10. I'm in JAX, too! Will likely be looking for an apartment.
  11. I'm a Program Coordinator at my current job, so I can very well imagine the situation at the office on Monday. Despite all the great technology that exists, sending out mass emails with different results to different people can get complicated, and mistakes can happen even when you've double and triple checked. It's frustrating as an applicant, but also frustrating as a coordinator when these things happen. The good thing is, we should only have to wait 2 more days for clarification. ?
  12. I agree with @sage-femme: I feel like there will be a correction email going out next Monday. Guess even though we know we're in, we can't be sure where we'll actually be going until then! Still, I'm super stoked. ???
  13. I got into JAX! Put no preference on the application; although I would have loved to live in Gainesville, I am excited for this new start! @sage-femme @mirandagoss, let's chat soon!
  14. Has anyone ever switched campuses? I put no preference (because I really AM happy to get in at all), but if two people wanted to switch campuses could that happen?
