UF accelerated BSN Summer 2019

U.S.A. Florida

Hello!

It's only May but I am already working on getting my ducks in a row for the Post-bacc application. I thought it would be nice to start a thread so applicants can support each other through the process! I know I have a million questions already and I am trying hard not to pester admissions.

I am so excited to be almost done with my prerequisites and I am looking forward to finally applying this Fall!

I would love to hear about everyone's background, projects, questions, and hopefully we can help each other out.

Good luck to all! We got this!

What portal is this? I tried the post bacc site where I submited the application but there was nothing there that I saw.

https://admissions.ufl.edu/appstatus I used this link.

@SilentNightingale is correct there is no luck with where we were placed because it just says a simple admitted to the post-bac you applied for.

I thought maybe there would be a new status for everyone.

I’m so excited to hear about a mentor group for new students. Is that something you guys had when you started? Or is this a new initiative? Looking forward to hearing about it all!

The mentorship is not a new program. Luckily, we had a mentor group. It is there to support students through the progression of the program. We are trying our best to update it and make it even more supportive!

Current students - I can’t seem to find the answer for the ABSN route as the tuition is a little confusing. How much is the program or per semester how much have you had to pay? Just trying to prepare and get an estimate. ?

when i talked to kenneth, he said it would be the same as paying as an undergrad student! so multiply the tuition by the credit hours we will take each semester and that will be what you will be paying! (you might want to double check because it could’ve changed but that’s what he had told me previously) ?

Thanks so much!

Does anyone have a good recommendation for a school/program/online class to get my CNA before school starts in May? Thank you!

This isn’t well known, but you don’t need a certification to work as a CNA after you complete one semester of nursing school! You should wait and apply in the fall to get adjusted to the program and it’s expectations, if possible.

@McNurse1295 thank you so much for that tidbit!! I really appreciate it ?

Mentors or current/prior students of this program: do students work during the program? If so, how many?

How early are we able to start applying for scholarships specific to the college of nursing? I noticed that there are quite a few on UF's scholarship search, but they said to contact the school of nursing. I was just wondering how soon we could ask the college of nursing for applications.

I was also accepted to JAX (my only preference). Super excited to meet y'all!

There was a glitch!!!! I got accepted to the Gainesville Campus!!!!
