Hello!
It's only May but I am already working on getting my ducks in a row for the Post-bacc application. I thought it would be nice to start a thread so applicants can support each other through the process! I know I have a million questions already and I am trying hard not to pester admissions.
I am so excited to be almost done with my prerequisites and I am looking forward to finally applying this Fall!
I would love to hear about everyone's background, projects, questions, and hopefully we can help each other out.
Good luck to all! We got this!

is this a requirement or you just want to have your CNA prior to starting school??
i know GatorCPR offers a great CNA course (not sure of your location but they are in gainesville!)
@mirandagoss CNA is not a requirement but I am going to try to get a job as a CNA working 1 day a week or whatever I can to make some extra cash and gain experience!

Hey SilentNightingale,
The beginning of the program has a significant learning curve. Even people with past medical experience must learn a new way of thinking, information regarding nursing and methods to answer NCLEX style questions. Unfortunately, past students will not have as much information regarding difficulty of courses because the incoming class will be experiencing a new, updated curriculum. For the students admitted to (and accepting) the Jacksonville invitation, the mentor group will be providing them with a list of academic preparation tools (before the program start) and areas to focus on (during the program). The mentor group will support y'all through the program with academic and program information.

Hey SilentNightingale,
The ABSN group in Gainesville does have a mentor group. If you look at page 33 of this message board you can see a comment they posted (it is the last comment on that page). I am in contact with them, and they are working to get everything set up for y'all!

I’m so excited to hear about a mentor group for new students. Is that something you guys had when you started? Or is this a new initiative? Looking forward to hearing about it all!
For those of you who haven't heard anything, I saw my official admission letter was uploaded to my post-bac application status portal. You may want to check there to see if a new message is available regarding a status update. I'm super sorry some of you are still worrying! I can't imagine not knowing all weekend. Hopefully tomorrow everything gets sorted out. ?
I don’t know if this means anything, but I checked the portal (just like @bcordero), it doesn’t say the official campus where I will be going. I had friends who were accepted in the past years (they’ve posted it on Facebook) in which it was similar to the writting format we got on our E-mail.

Hey folks,
My name is Austin, and I am the Representative for the ABSN Class of 2019 here in Jacksonville, FL. The mentors at our campus have been working to establish your orientation, and we look forward to meeting with y'all shortly! Unfortunately, I do not have any information regarding this current acceptance situation; however, once things get sorted out, the mentor team will be sharing a Facebook page with you. This will be where you can find information about orientation, living arrangements, academic information, and other info about the program. Currently, we are working to figure out who has been accepted and who will be attending. Again, I do not have information about this acceptance situation, but when things get sorted out we will share more information about the Jacksonville program with you. Please take a big deep breath and give yourself a big pat on the back. You just got into nursing school! For the people who did not get in, please don't get down. It is a hurdle to overcome, but there will be plenty more opportunities to apply. If this is what you want, you will get it!
