UCSF New RN Grad Training Program 2014

Published

Hello, everyone! UCSF opened a couple of new RN Training Program for January 2014. Just wanted to start a thread. Did anyone else thought the application was abnormally short? I only attached a resume. Did you attach anything else? Good luck!

I have an interview this week with the float pool. From what I learned, there were over 200 resumes forwarded. Looks like they narrowed down to the 30 for interviews for 5 spots. I applied to 9 other adult units but have yet to hear back from any of them. Good luck to all.

For the Perinatal Department I heard the number of people who were chosen for the interview was 16 for 6 positions.

Someone on FB shared that she got a call to interview for the surgical floor. Not sure if that's the same as general surgery.

Anyone hear from oncology?

Hi L&D

Congratulations on your interview! Just curious, have you had your interview yet? I'm interested in applying for the next perinatal cohort and wanted to know what the interview process is like!

I emailed HR and the recruitment coordinator was nice enough to email me back some information. This is what she said:

We are a month behind our original schedule due to the large amount of applicants and a labor action on 11/20. Resume prescreening was just completed 12/3. Managers will be reviewing and scheduling interviews in the next few weeks. The start date has actually pushed to February 10. Here is the revised timeline:

2013 - 2014 Timeline

October – Training Program opportunities posted. Opportunities will only be posted for 7 days.

October/November- Resume pre-screening by Human Resources and Hiring Managers

December-Candidate Interviews

December/January-Reference checking

January-Final Selections made by January 6-10

New Hire Onboarding, 3 - 4 weeks in duration

February 10, 2014 - Training Program begins

Of the 5 adult units I applied for, my resume was forwarded to managers for 3 of them. Unfortunately, one of them was the Resource Team, which seemed to have contacted their candidates already. :( It would be great if I can get at least ONE interview. :\

My resume was forwarded on to 4 units and I have not received any phone calls yet. They are all med-surge adult units.

The anticipation is wreaking havoc on my system.

Staying positive and hopeful until the end!!

Houseblew, How did the PICU interview go? What was the panel interview like?

Baytobreakers, congrats on getting your resume forwarded to 4 units!! Stay hopeful! If you don't mind me asking, what unit did you do your preceptorship on?

HR told me that my resume was forwarded for 3 adult units . Still hoping for a call!

How do you guys know if your résumé has been forwarded? I've called twice and gotten the same answer that they haven't finished reviewing resumes so they can't say if mine has been forwarded.
