Hello, everyone! UCSF opened a couple of new RN Training Program for January 2014. Just wanted to start a thread. Did anyone else thought the application was abnormally short? I only attached a resume. Did you attach anything else? Good luck!
I emailed HR and the recruitment coordinator was nice enough to email me back some information. This is what she said:
We are a month behind our original schedule due to the large amount of applicants and a labor action on 11/20. Resume prescreening was just completed 12/3. Managers will be reviewing and scheduling interviews in the next few weeks. The start date has actually pushed to February 10. Here is the revised timeline:
2013 - 2014 Timeline
October – Training Program opportunities posted. Opportunities will only be posted for 7 days.
October/November- Resume pre-screening by Human Resources and Hiring Managers
December-Candidate Interviews
December/January-Reference checking
January-Final Selections made by January 6-10
New Hire Onboarding, 3 - 4 weeks in duration
February 10, 2014 - Training Program begins
Of the 5 adult units I applied for, my resume was forwarded to managers for 3 of them. Unfortunately, one of them was the Resource Team, which seemed to have contacted their candidates already. It would be great if I can get at least ONE interview. :\
My resume was forwarded on to 4 units and I have not received any phone calls yet. They are all med-surge adult units. The anticipation is wreaking havoc on my system.
Staying positive and hopeful until the end!!
Baytobreakers, congrats on getting your resume forwarded to 4 units!! Stay hopeful! If you don't mind me asking, what unit did you do your preceptorship on?

I have an interview this week with the float pool. From what I learned, there were over 200 resumes forwarded. Looks like they narrowed down to the 30 for interviews for 5 spots. I applied to 9 other adult units but have yet to hear back from any of them. Good luck to all.
