UCSF MEPN 2019

Published

Hello. I recently attended the UCSF MEPN information session and I am really excited about the program. I am still finishing my pre-reqs and I want to be as ready as possible. Anyone else out there looking to apply for 2019?

Also,I would love any advice on rounding out my application for PMHNP.

Stats:

Undergrad theater major 3.3, Science and Pre-reqs (prob) 3.7

GRE Verb 48th %tile Quant 30th %tile Analytical 18th %tile

Work Exp: 10 useless years in the film business and then 3 years Admin at private practice and hospital

Volunteer: UCLA nursing, Suicide Crisis Hotline, Veteran's Administration Domicilliary

LOR: Prob only 4 really great ones. Is not sending 5 a bad idea?

I would love to hear from you!

I was wondering the same thing... my personal statement is currently 5 pages double spaced. But I didn't see any specific page or length requirements stated for the Personal history statement

S.Johnson just sent an email out saying it could be any length, although hinted that it shouldn't be too long and succinct.

Hi, all! I just applied to the FNP program (like a few minutes ago o_o). Does anyone know when they typically send interview decisions? I didn't see anything on the website.

Also, I learned from Steven that you have to fill out the additional background section, but you can leave it concise if you feel like your app covers it already.

Based on previous threads, it looks like early December is when we hear back in case anyone else is wondering!

Thank you for the information! I'm hoping to submit my application sometime next week!!! So nerve wrecking!!!

Hi All - thank you all for sharing your experience with the application process. I found extremely useful, and of course comforting to know others are going through the experience. I just submitted my application. I hope we all get to cautiously celebrate in December.

From MEPN website: "Invitations to interview letters and initial deny letters typically are dispatched in the second week of December."

Congrats on submitting :-) I'm hoping to submit mine by tomorrow... I know Steven said to turn it in as early as we can, but I keep making never-ending revisions to my statements lol

I know the GRE isn't required, but is anyone planning on sending their score anyways?

I also wanted to know - who is applying to which specialty?

I am applying to APHN! Almost done with my application and then the waiting game begins...

Agreed, this thread has been super helpful! Let's hope for the best come December. I will soon be turning mine in as well !

No, I didn't even end up taking it because I saw it wasn't required anymore.

I sent it, but only because I took it recently and it was free for me to send. I wouldn't send it if I had to pay for it, because I'm 99 percent sure they aren't even allowed to take it into consideration.
