Hello. I recently attended the UCSF MEPN information session and I am really excited about the program. I am still finishing my pre-reqs and I want to be as ready as possible. Anyone else out there looking to apply for 2019?
Also,I would love any advice on rounding out my application for PMHNP.
Stats:
Undergrad theater major 3.3, Science and Pre-reqs (prob) 3.7
GRE Verb 48th %tile Quant 30th %tile Analytical 18th %tile
Work Exp: 10 useless years in the film business and then 3 years Admin at private practice and hospital
Volunteer: UCLA nursing, Suicide Crisis Hotline, Veteran's Administration Domicilliary
LOR: Prob only 4 really great ones. Is not sending 5 a bad idea?
I would love to hear from you!
Hey everyone, a Facebook group has been created for the 2019 cohort. I can't provide a link here because it breaks Allnurses terms of service, but if you search "UCSF MEPN" on FB you should be able to quickly find the "UCSF MEPN 2019" group. One quirk I found was that the group did not show up in the search results if I searched "UCSF MEPN 2019", so leave the year out.
Hi there! I interviewed for the PMHNP speciality and didn't get in. I'm in reflection mode now and do plan to apply for the next cycle. I am considering ways I can be a stronger applicant and interviewer if I am granted another opportunity. I'm wondering if anyone had this experience of not getting in the first time, and continued to apply? What did you do differently in the second application? How was writing your goal and personal statement again like? And what was the LOR portion like?
Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks so much.

Sorry to hear that, but don't give up. I have heard of people applying multiple times and getting in on their 2nd or 3rd try. If you were invited to interview it sounds like your overall application stellar! Sometimes they just don't have the spots. How do you feel the interview went?
