UCSF MEPN 2019

Published

Hello. I recently attended the UCSF MEPN information session and I am really excited about the program. I am still finishing my pre-reqs and I want to be as ready as possible. Anyone else out there looking to apply for 2019?

Also,I would love any advice on rounding out my application for PMHNP.

Stats:

Undergrad theater major 3.3, Science and Pre-reqs (prob) 3.7

GRE Verb 48th %tile Quant 30th %tile Analytical 18th %tile

Work Exp: 10 useless years in the film business and then 3 years Admin at private practice and hospital

Volunteer: UCLA nursing, Suicide Crisis Hotline, Veteran's Administration Domicilliary

LOR: Prob only 4 really great ones. Is not sending 5 a bad idea?

I would love to hear from you!

Applying for the AGPCNP track. Just sending my regards to all of you applying now. Has anyone uploaded transcripts and request official versions sent? It was hard to tell if they expect one or the other.

I requested for the official versions to be sent! I think someone else on this forum did the same thing.

For your experience, are you guys just copying and pasting from your resume verbatim? I wouldn't know how else to say the experience again as I highlighted my accomplishments in the additional background info section.

I'm copying/pasting. I totally agree with you... I wouldn't know how else to re-word it.

Hey all, for the resume, did anyone add in non-health related experiences? I don't have too many health-related ones. I'm debating if I should separate health and non-health related experiences.

Does anyone know if submitting applications early has any benefit? or if just sending by September due date is okay? I know some programs like medical school, the earlier you apply the better.

I hope to be finished with my application sometime this week, next week at the latest. All of my transcripts have been filled and I'm waiting on two (one for the minimum) more LOR. I can't wait for all of this to be over looool

I have health related experiences and non-health ones. It would show well-roundedness if you incorporate them right in your essay/application!

Did y'all check your emails yesterday? SJ sent us a Prezi on how to apply, actually helped!

Just submitted my application for the PNP! That last email motivated me to finish my goal statement since it seems they're eager to start reviewing applications. Any other PNP's here?

I just sent the official ones to make sure it was something they would accept! Took less than a week for them to get there!

I did. I copied and pasted. What did you enter into the optional Background Information section? Sounds like a copy and paste of some personal statement sections?

Agreed. It presented what they are looking for the way I haven't seen it before.

Hi guys,

After some thought, i'm going to need to hold off on applying for MEPN 2019. So much has happened these last 6 months that I believe that I am not as ready to apply like I had initially thought. I feel I should build up my application more and i'll look into applying next fall.

On that note, I am definitely going to keep an eye on this thread just to see how everyone is doing. I wish you all the best of luck!
