Hi,
I just wanted to start a thread for people applying to UCLA's new grad program this year. I have filled out the application online, but wondered if I should send a hard copy too. Does anyone else have any information? I heard that for the last new grad class, they had more than 800 applicants for 80 slots. Kind of discouraging...
I did practice for mine, but that's just the way I am. Too bad that even tho I always prepare, I still stay nervous! It makes it harder for me to think on the spot. I agree with the previous poster who said that there is no way to anticipate a lot of the questions, and others are ones you really would expect. There were a LOT of questions and I was starting to wear out by the end. I think I did fairly well overall, tho.
"it's difficult for ADNs applying to Magnet recognized hospitals because there is a requirement for Magnet-designated hospitals to hire about 90% BS graduates and the 10% ADN. At Cedars, there were 50 spots in their past new grad program, where they hired only 3 ADN graduates.
My numbers may not be accurate but there is a majority that they need to hire."
Thanks for the info...I had heard that too, that they preferred BSNs because of trying to get Magnet status. Cedars already is a Magnet, I think, so maybe the policies are different there. I only have a BA and an ADN...but I've got to try...

UCLA is also already Magnet.
I had my talentplus interview last week and I had mixed emotions about it. I thought I did well on some questions but others I felt my answers couldve been better.
For those who had the phone interview, how long did yours take? & has anyone received another interview yet? (i believe the next one should be with the nurse recruiter).
I am just keeping my fingers crossed & hoping for the best. Hope we all move to the next level!

Did anyone practice for the interview? I am just googling interview questions (it's been a long time since I interviewed!)...I hope that it goes well, I have mine tomorrow. I hate those, "Tell me about a time" questions, and I know that this one is going to have a lot of those questions!
