Summer hopefuls talk here.... good luck to us all!!! :redbeathe
I have my interview on Thursday. I"m excited and nervous at the same time! Is the cardiac step down unit, a ICU floor? Does anyone know? That's the one I chose
I looked on the website because I was wondering the same thing about the cardiac surgery floor, and both floors were under "intermediate care." So..I don't think it's an ICU? lol
Hey! I'm interviewing right after you, Allie. I'm set for 3:00. Hope yours goes well!
Ah cool! Maybe I will see you and not know it, lol. I have to be there at 2:20, but the interview is actually set for 2:40. That means we really only have like 15 mins of interview time! I feel kind of upset by this...how is that enough time?
Step Down is a lower acuity from ICU but higher then a Med/Surg...a "step down" from ICU. I know here in the bay area, the ratio is about 3 to 1 nurses per patient rather then 2 to 1 in the ICU or 4 or 5 to 1 in Med/Surg. They will all be on monitors still since it is a cardiac unit and may be trached....That's what the step down unit was at a hospital that I wored at in the past.
has anyone applied for OR? i just called HR and they're still reviewing applications, and they haven't contacted OR applicants yet. it's my second time applying, so i'm still hanging in there! :)
Thank you for this information. I applied for OR but am on the waiting list. Any idea how many they are taking for the OR?

i forgot to ask. other than the email with the potential dates, i have not had ANYTHING else from UCLA. my status still says "We have contacted you for an interview." did you get an email saying you were waitlisted?

Yes. I received an email about being put on the waitlist. I didn't even get as far as the talentplus process. Still hoping beyond all hope that I'll be pulled from the waitlist. :)
