Summer hopefuls talk here.... good luck to us all!!! :nurse: :redbeathe

Hi RN1218,

don't worry I'm sure you did great on the interview! I also completed mine today too with liver tx and from what i remember she asked me at least 10 q's and I feel that each q's kinda flowed along the next. So we'll see how it goes but I know each dept is different. I'm very surprised that some only had 2 questions! I was told also that we'll hear back from them in two weeks, and the other lady said they mite call us for a second interview if they want to go forward with us.....ppl hear different things tho so we'll see. Good luck to all!!!!!! and for the rest who are interviewing after this week! good luck!!!!!!!

hi,guys. I just did my interview. I was only asked 5-6 questions. It lasted less than 15 mins. I'm not sure if its good or bad but I felt good after the interview. Do u guys know how many are they hiring for liver tx ICU?

I asked and she said 10 spots open, but then she also mentioned that sometimes she may take a few more if she feels that some have the qualifications! soooo still hopeful! :) did anyone asked how many ppl they are interviewing for liver tx?

I looked on the check in list and saw about 20 interviewers. I was number 14 on the list.

Congratulations to those who finished their interviews :yeah: what a huge burden to be done with!!

If you don't mind me asking, were the questions about clinical scenarios? or, were they catered more towards learning about you? Thank you!

I got called for my interview in NICU on the 26th! Very nervous!! Its going to be a year out of school on April 24th for me! Does anybody no what to expect of the NICU interview? My advise to new grads is don't put all your eggs in one basket! USC new grad application starts May 1st and they do require alot of info including a 1 to 2 page statement of purpose. Hopes this helps!

Hi,alwaysmile. It really depends on the interviewer/unit you're applying for. With mine, only standard questions like why nursing? why this unit? etc....but for some people, they were given scenarios, mostly prioritization....good luck!!!

Thank you so much for sharing this document. I found it very helpful.:nurse:

Hi, Allie58D! Navigating an unfamiliar city - especially for an important interview- can be nerve wrecking! However, I know you'll be fine and maybe we can help with timing advice! Where are you staying?

Also, if you click around on the UCLA website, you can read about each hospital. The Ronald Reagan site has information on a page called "Our Departments and Units" . . . I don't even remember how I got there, but if you search each major tab on the webpage, you'll find it. On that page, there are a couple of cardiac units listed, including a cardiac observation unit and a cardiac intensive care unit. It seems that there are medical surgical floors throughout the UCLA health system. I'm sure they'll let you know in the interview, but I also know you want to feel prepared! So, I don't think you would look out of it if you had to say something along the lines of, "I know that there are several hospitals within the system and that Ronald Regan has several cardiac units. Is the position with Ronald Regan?" (not in those exact words, but you get the picture:) )

Thank you! I will be coming from sunset blvd and my interview is at 2:20.

Hey everyone! I just finished my interview today for ICU Liver Transplant. I feel that it went well and I answered all the questions correctly and appropriately. Each interview is 20 minutes in length and back to back interviews. I'm a little worried because my interview lasted 15 minutes was asked only a few questions and when I was answering my questions sometimes my interviewer would kind of cut me off trying to get to the next question. Is this bad? I read that sometimes interviewers know what theyre lookong for and are straight to the point. I even asked like 6 questions afterwards. I spoke to others and they said they were asked 2 questions only. Very strange. I was told we would be notified at the end of this week or next-if we haven't heard anything in 2 weeks to call them back. The staff were extremely helpful and really made me feel comfortable. Overall I feel that I did my best and all I can do now is wait. How was everyone else's experience at today's interviews? Good luck to all who are interviewing this week and in a few weeks :)

congrats on being done! I was just wondering.. you say "each interview." you had more than one interview for the same floor?

I did the interview for Liver Trans ICU as well..I felt pretty good and now I am at the phase of "I should have said this instead" or "I could have worded it better". It's nice to hear that there are 10 spots available...with about 20 interviews...that gives us all a 50% chance!! :yeah: The questions were not too bad...and I felt that I was able to answer them well. No clinical questions...

We are supposed to hear by the end of the week...which is so soon...I'm going to be on pins and needles all week....good luck to everyone.

I practiced interviewing with my brother-in-law before hand....so if you have someone who is a manager and has experience with interviewing...i would ask to practice with them...
