  1. Just an update- I just received my email from R.F. for FNP, I'm waitlisted at unlucky #13 lol I'll try again next year, good luck to all!!
  2. Still nothing on my end for FNP, and my page still says to date no decision has been made. So I'm assuming everyone is finding out their decision thru email?
  3. Congrats to everyone who got in! Still no decision made on mine. I applied to FNP. My friend is in the FNP program right now (she started last year) and told me we will all find out within the same week if we're accepted or not no matter the specialty we applied for. Thought it'd be good info to give you guys. Also I recognize some of these names from the ucla new grad summer 2011 thread
  4. haha i was going to ask the same thing! anyway, join the facebook group! i dont really know how to post the link to it..its called "UCLA Medical Center New Grad RNs Summer 2011" and u just have to ask to join cuz its private
  5. No the application was up march 7th-14th or something lol. Theres another cohort starting next march and I think you apply in October or November. Id call and keepcalling until you find out the date the next application goes up cuz u have to apply right when it's posted
  6. I posted what they asked me earlier in the thread. :)
  7. By august 8th! So you are transferring your license from another state? My plan was to send in as much paperwork as I can for the CA license and temp license in advanced, Take my boards around June 15, send in the verification, then fly out and do the live scan in July at the same time as I do my physical and stuff for ucla. Then I have to make a day trip to Sacramento to pick up my temp license a few weeks later. I requested a card too though. Did you just fill out that one part of the website and not pay anything yet? I'm still confused about some stuff on the website lol.
  8. Lol that was easy. I asked to join. -Alyssa
  9. Thanks for your response. A temporary license will take less time? It seems like it will take 4-6 weeks which is the same as transferring? Cuz a lot seems to be online now.. Maybe i will just apply for a Cali license and get a partial refund from NY. Blah. How should I do the group? I feel weird posting my full name on here lol
  10. Anyone coming from out of state: how are you getting fingerprinted for your license? are you flying out and doing live scan, or doing the fingerprint card that takes 1-2mons to process? I'm going the route of transferring my NY license as opposed to getting the cali license right away but theres still the fingerprinting problem. I'm just worried about my CA license not being ready by the start date. what will happen? will they fire me? lol Also not to be corny but maybe we can start a facebook group for all the new grads starting at ucla? GOOD LUCK to everyone still waiting to hear back!!
  11. So sorry to be off topic but does anyone have any advice on how to transfer an NY license to CA? I am taking my boards here because I don't want to fly out to Cali just to take the NCLEX. I've already applied (and partially paid. $143.) for an NY license because I didn't know if I would have this job or not! I'm assuming once I pass my boards I basically have my license in NY, and will be able to obtain the info I need to send to Cali? I know there is an endorsement form and something about fingerprinting but I just feel really lost at this point. I emailed them for advice but I have a feeling it wont be helpful. Also, how much money will it be to transfer?
  12. Thanks! yes i met with one recruiter. the meeting was probably 30 mins long. Questions were so standard! like.. tell me about yourself, why chla, are you okay with the two year commitment and why, when have you dealt with a difficult family member, why do u want to work with kids, why your unit of choice..and like 2 other forms of tell me about yourself. i didnt know what to say by the end. i said i liked to cook. lol!
  13. I interviewed at chla April 14 cuz I was already going to be in LA interviewing at ucla. So I did the preliminary interview before a lot of ppl cuz I called and asked if I could. I got a rejection email from chla a week later lol
  14. If you interviewed with R.A. I bet you're on the same floor as me! I know no one and am moving from NY with my boyfriend (who's originally from LA) so maybe it won't be so bad.. Ahh!
  15. Thanks girl! Good luck to you!
