  1. Some places in the bay area will not hire you as a CNA if you have your RN as well...Not sure why but when I tried to get hired as a nurse at a hospital that I used to work at, they weren't hiring new grads so I thought I could just work as a CNA until something opened up and they wouldn't hire me.
  2. :crying2::crying2::crying2::crying2:
  3. Did you call? Did you call? Good luck!
  4. My interview was May 11...
  5. I just got a call from Liver Transplant and got offered a position!! What a relief! (I just put in a request to be a part of the FB group...)
  6. How come my phone isn't ringing?
  7. Don't give up hope Liver ICUers....she was out on vacation until today...She may be interviewing a few more cause she didn't fill ALL her spots! We still have a chance and until I hear a definate "NO", I'm keeping the faith...but also applying to other places in the mean time.
  8. I haven't heard from her since about two weeks ago when she said she would be calling back on May 16th. She didn't say anything about call back interviews though....is that what she said to you?
  9. MAY 16TH!?!?!?!?! Why will it take so long?!?!?! UGH...
  10. Hmmmm...I'm torn about this issue. I really do hate smoking and have supported my boyfriend throughout the quitting process..which was quite painful, but why do they target smoking only...what about Alcohol...McDonald's...Sugar? I know plenty of healthcare professionals who abuse these things as well...but are they an acceptable unhealthy habit? Are they going to start requiring their healthcare professionals to have a healthy BMI? Is a three day drunken bender ok but an occasional cigarette grounds for termination?
  11. the good news nicotine is quickly metabolized by the body and quickly eliminated. within 2 to 3 days after quitting smoking, your body will have cleansed itself of both the nicotine and the nicotine byproducts that were drenching your system. there are some variations in how quickly the liver cleans the blood, but nicotine isn't a drug that becomes part of your general bodily makeup for the long term. unlike such contaminants as heavy metals, you aren't stuck with residual nicotine for years to come. http://www.ehow.com/how-does_5243019_long-nicotine-out-body_.html so do they test for nicotine? what if you are on the patch or using other methods for quiting that involve nicotine...it seems unfair that if you are in the process of quitting, that they wouldn't be more supportive.
  12. This waiting is driving me koo koo!!!!
  13. I interviewed on Monday. All of the ICU departments interviewed on Monday and some of the HR ladies said that we may hear by the end of the week or next week. I'm not counting on in because that usually means two weeks...but I'm just so nervous and impatient!!!! :eek::eek::eek:
  14. We might be getting some offers today!! If anyone hears post it and let us know which department! I'm on pins and needles!!
