UCLA New Grad RN SUMMER 2011

Summer hopefuls talk here.... good luck to us all!!! :nurse: :redbeathe

Well there goes my theory about oncology! That's ok...I was waitlisted for nursing school so I don't mind being waitlisted for new grad programs. :D

Don't worry, Littleguccipiggy!

I was told they are JUST now starting to call the people who will interview on April 14th. They are still filling the last of the April 11th interview spots.

Hahaha...well I didn't even receive a call for the Talent Plus interview, which is ok. I think I need to stop obsessively checking this board so much so I can vicariously live through everyone else's interviews. :D

Good to know Peds calls are still coming up ahead, I am with you all with anxiety about that...and yes I also applied to NICU, that is a bunch of us :)) I carry my cell phone everywhere, even in the bathroom, I just do not want to miss that phone call (hey what can I say, I am an optimist!!)

Let's try to keep our sanity !! Thank you to those who are sharing this information, so happy to be able to come to this board and see i am not alone in this!

I got waitlisted...:( is that good or bad? hahahahaha I'm loosing it...

Specializes in Nursing.

To everyone that got interviews on April 11 and April 14...GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!! Positive thoughts sent your way!!!

Specializes in PICU.

I know this is a bit off topic, but I am currently applying for a job as a care partner for PICU at Ronald Reagan. Can you tell me a little bit about your experience as a care partner and stress load, any tips, and or advice ? I just got my CNA license and have no experience, but I think my interview went really well. I'm just waiting to hear back and nervous about working there.

thanks!

Hello everyone,

for those who have not heard anything and feel you've already been rejected.. its way too soon to come to conclusions so try not to worry. I applied for the winter program, many people had already gone to interviews and been offered positions while I had yet to hear anything. I did finally get a call to go interview, and am now part of the winter program. Most of the people on my unit got hired very late in the process (we are in an ICU), a lot didnt even know they were still being considered, anyways, my point is try not to get to anxious or caught up when you hear that other people get the calls. good luck to all.

How wonderful of you to share that! You obviously remember how nerve-wracking it is to wait for the calls.

Thank you so much for sharing your story with us.

It is very encouraging in the middle of uncertainty.

How do you like new grad program there?

Hope you enjoy your new journey @ UCLA :yeah:

For those who have an interview on April 11th, do you know if your interview is specific to what you applied for or are they just interviewing for general ICU. I can't remember if the HR dept told me if I'd be interviewing for a specific unit. Thanks!

It should be for a specific unit. When I talked to someone last week, they said the only interview spot in ICU they had left was for liver transplant.

Any phone calls yet for peds or NICU anyone? I know patience is a virtue but this is hard!!! Thanks :)
