Ok, so I called the nurse recruiter again today because I'm starting to get nervous because April 1st is tomorrow. She said if they don't contact you by mid april then you should assume they moved on with other candidates. IDK first it was april 1st, now mid april! Who knows anymore just keep your fingers crossed! Good luck everyone!

I was just scheduled with Oncology on April 14. The two unit managers are doing the interviews and I believe it is that day only. I asked HR how many positions were available in Oncology and she did not know...just that they are in fact hiring. I was assigned a time. Hope this info is helpful.

@ Lovepeacelove, how do you go about calling these people? I mean do you think it is cool to call recruitment and ask them how many people they are recruiting for different units? I bet all of us in this thread would love to know what they are against...such a rat race, isn't it terrible? We all work so hard to get these licenses and just want to do what we love and trained for....I just do not want to get on their nerves by calling...any suggestions? anyone feels this way?
Also wondering about how to let them know that if first choice is not available, i am willing to interview for any other unit!!!! suggestions?

No I don't call them...I just happen to float to the peds floor that day so I asked. I wouldn't call HR, I think they get enough phone calls every day.

I agree, I'm so nervous with getting a job and I can't believe how tough it is for new grads to get a job right now!

What were your top 3 unit choices?

OH MY GOD! I'm so anxious "/ waiting for that phone call is driving me near insanity..

My top three choices were: 1.) NICU 2.) Peds 3.) PICU

I am right there with you! Going insane waiting for a phone call! I applied to 1) Peds, 2) PICU, 3) NICU! I am trying to keep positive and it seems like the April 11th and April 14th dates are for adult units? not sure though! Just based on what people are posting who have received phone calls! So there's still a chance since no one seems to have gotten a call for any pediatric positions (or at least this is what I am telling myself to stay positive )

Well there goes my theory about oncology! That's ok...I was waitlisted for nursing school so I don't mind being waitlisted for new grad programs.

My top 3 are NICU, OR, and Cardiac ICU! I hope they allow you to interview for you TOP 3 choices and not just your 1st choice because honestly I would be happy with either one. Everytime my phone rings my heart stops thinking its UCLA but of course it not! LOL
