  1. Congrats! It was a long but worthy journey. Enjoy every last second of your success.
  2. I also did the speed dating round on Monday and received the rejection call today. I really wonder if they went with Mendocino locals only.
  3. Has anyone heard anything yet about Oncology?
  4. I was just scheduled with Oncology on April 14. The two unit managers are doing the interviews and I believe it is that day only. I asked HR how many positions were available in Oncology and she did not know...just that they are in fact hiring. I was assigned a time. Hope this info is helpful.
  5. springybaybee: What does the waitlist email say? Does it give you any indications of timelines, etc?
  6. Viruz: Congrats and what day did you complete the Talent Plus interview?
  7. I am planning to look at the positives that I gained from this experience. I had the opportunity to experience a one on one interview with preset questions and opportunities to expand on my answers. I can now reflect more on my own nursing experiences and improve the presentation of my responses for the next interview. I was able to meet several amazing candidates during the process and learn a bit about the various journeys taken to get to nursing. I was rejected after what felt like an amazing interview process and I still woke up the next day...it did not kill me. I decluttered a collection of nursing school era chaos in my home in order to expend my nervous energy during the waiting process. It feels amazing to start getting my pre-nursing school life back. During my interview, I was honest and revealed myself. It is important to me to be in the right job. I know that I will be an amazing practicing nurse and want to be in a place that recognizes that about me. Perhaps the cosmos are sending me a message that the right position is still out there waiting for me. Thanks to everyone for the support. I have continued to apply to various jobs all over California throughout the Scripps process. I will be on the Sharp and UCLA boards so I will chat with some of you over there. Good luck to everyone on your next step...to those that will start their first days at Scripps and to those that will begin/continue the process with other hospitals.
  8. I received the rejection email too. I wish I had received it Friday...it would have saved me from a weekend of false hope. On to the next application. Good luck to all of the new hires and see the rest of you on the message board.
  9. I just called HR and there is a new voicemail message directed at New Grads. They are still working on the process and do not anticipate finalizing things until early next week. So it looks like we are going to continue playing the waiting game. At least now we know that there may not be phone calls this week.
  10. My friend and I were doing our application simultaneously and hit the submit button within moments of each other. We applied within the first hour of the application. We have a BSN and applied to the step down med-surg, oncology and one of us applied to cardiothoracic and the other to liver transplant. We both received the email about the talent plus email last Monday or Tuesday. I didn't get the phone call to schedule my talent plus until last Thursday (March 17) and that was the day that she did her Talent plus interview. My interview is scheduled for Tuesday (March 22) which was the soonest available day offered to me. Her last name begins with "H" and mine with "W". She and I both have Med Surg preceptorships mine with a subspecialty in nephrology and hers in ortho. I hope this helps.
  11. Good Luck everyone: Today is a new day and hopefully it will bring good news to many of us. This forum has been so supportive. With that stated, I would be proud to have each of you as my nursing colleague. I can tell that we will all be so supportive of one another during the next phase of our nursing careers.
  12. I think that would depend on when sooperdooper received the email. It could be that an initial email went out to the majority of new hires in order to get the ball rolling.
  13. Krisgrande: My birthday is in April too. It would definitely make a grand gift. Happy birthday to us and I won't even mind one bit working on my birthday.
  14. ILoveAlaska: Thanks so much for this posting. I have been feeling so anxious that I have been decluttering everything in site (not bad as a final result...but egads). I am happy to know that there will be a new hire pool. I personally will be over the moon happy to work in any department...not only the departments that I interviewed. I loved the feel of San Diego. I am trying to keep everything in perspective and stay positive. I know that I am a good candidate and the right job will come along...hopefully sooner rather than later.
  15. Thanks so much for posting. I was feeling really down because I felt like my interviews went well...but then no response today. I can now take a deep breath and get a good nights sleep. Good night all.
