Summer hopefuls talk here.... good luck to us all!!! :nurse: :redbeathe

Also, those with the call to confirm choices or have an interview scheduled, did you application status change? Thanks!

I got a call to confirm my first choice but my status has remained the same!

Thanks! I did the phone interview on 3/17 but have not heard anything since then. No calls to confirm choices for me. :( It would be nice to move on if I know I failed talent plus. *sigh...

Hey everyone, I wouldn't worry too much about hearing from them on that April 1st deadline. From what I've noticed, those who have the in person interviews are for April 11, but they still plan on having more in person interviews towards the end of this month as stated in the emails. And its ok if you've been wait listed. I know of someone who was on the wait list for two months and still got hired. We just have to be patient during this process. Stay encouraged.

That's great news for me! Just out of curiosity, has anyone else selected as oncology as their first choice? I feel like I'm the only one on this thread who has. I just need 10,000 other people to not want oncology :D

For those of you that put peds as their top unit, I asked the charge nurse today how many new grads they'll be taking in the summer and she said that she THINKS that the pediatrics unit is probably going to take about 10-12 new grads. (For the winter cohort, they took 7)

Is that for all of peds? Including NICU and PICU or just general peds? Thanks for the info!

Just the peds unit :)

Hi,nursing.mypassion. I applied to OR as well and had my phone interview last March 23. When u called UCLA HR, what else did they say? I havent gotten any calls from them. one of my classmates just got a call from Talent Plus yesterday and scheduled her phone int for tom. I guess, they're still scheduling phone interviews.good luck to everyone!

i didn't ask specifically for OR. i just asked generally about my application status. they say that decisions are being made and that if I yet to hear anything from them, I should stay happy. I'll keep you posted should I hear anything from them. :nurse:

Wow! That sounds great!

My first choice is Peds.

Do you know when they will start calling people?

No, I don't know...Sorry!

Specializes in Nursing.

i have to retract my earlier message! The unit director for pediatrics informed me that she'll be taking 5 new grads this summer (the charge nurse must have meant 10-12 new grads for the whole year)

sorry for the misunderstanding!

well, i'm yet to hear anything, and tomorrow is gonna be April 1...

@ Lovepeacelove, how do you go about calling these people? I mean do you think it is cool to call recruitment and ask them how many people they are recruiting for different units? I bet all of us in this thread would love to know what they are against...such a rat race, isn't it terrible? We all work so hard to get these licenses and just want to do what we love and trained for....I just do not want to get on their nerves by calling...any suggestions? anyone feels this way?

Also wondering about how to let them know that if first choice is not available, i am willing to interview for any other unit!!!! suggestions?

Thanks everyone, it is wonderful to be amongst you, and hope we can all get to the finishing line. Best wishes to all!
