UCLA New Grad RN SUMMER 2011

Summer hopefuls talk here.... good luck to us all!!! :nurse: :redbeathe

Specializes in Oncology, Medical/Surgical.

Thanks SunnyRN, but unfortunately I don't live in the LA area, so the nursing fair is out of the question for me. I suppose I will keep trying. I have come to a point that denial is expected and I will be pleasantly surprised when I get a chance to interview again.

Thanks again and good luck with your job search :)

qwertyuiop- I don't remember her telling me which ICU it would be for....maybe she did and I didn't catch it. My guess is that they do a general interview and then they decide from your interview which one to offer you if they want to hire you. Springbaybee- Being waitlisted isn't necessarily a bad thing...some people may get tired of waiting around and find other jobs and your chance may be up! :)

Specializes in Oncology.

Don't worry springybaybee...I'm waitlisted along with you! (Apparently I should have checked my application status before I posted earlier.) But whatever...some people are rabbits and hop along ahead and I'm a turtle going at my own pace...I'll get there eventually! :)

ha one can only hope that I have a speck of a chance at actually getting a job at UCLA :p

I had my TalentPLus interview on the 23rd, haven't heard anything and no status change. Should I call or just give it a few more days?

I received a waitlist email as well. Something will open up for us soon. Stay positive everyone!

DId anyone hear back from peds? or waitlisted?

I applied to med surg, peds, and then adult/geri/psych. I had my talent plus interview on the 23rd and haven't heard anything. I feel like it would be way too soon to hear by April 1st, but totally ideal if I really do!

I mean, it takes 48 hours to get the results from the talent plus to UCLA and I'm sure theres a TON of applicants besides me who have applied to med surg and done talent plus on the 23rd or later. I don't know. I'm fully expecting a rejection email because I really think I did so poorly on the talent plus.

Im wondering if the only people who are being called/waitlisted so far have been called because their units are interviewing first, on the 11th? I hate being one of those people that makes up theories under stress but..there ya go..lol

I totally feel you, Allie58D :)

I feel the same way about the talent + interview. I almost babbled whole time. I even apologized for babbling. :crying2:

Just want to hear something from them so that I can move on:redpinkhe

Good luck to you anyways!

that's the call I got...so many questions....I did not have time to ask the lady anything, she was very brief and to the point!! Not sure why L/D. that what not an option I believe when we chose! Let's keep our fingers crossed, and our spirits up!!!

Parlislon,

I received the same phone call! The lady asked me if NICU was my first choice, I said yes, and she said thank you have a good day... end of conversation. I'm so glad you mentioned this... I was feeling a bit awkward after the phone call and thought they were eliminating me from list. :o

And I did not have L&D as an option either.

Does anybody know when the UCLA new grad program starts? Thanks!

no news is good news, if you havent' heard back from ucla there's still hope. at least that's what i was told when i called ucla. keep the hopes up. seems like those who were called are those applied to icu as 1st choice. i applied to OR as my first choice. and, had the email to call the talentplus ont the 1st week and was interviewed in the 2nd week. haven't heard back since then. anyone in my boat? Let's keep the hopes up. 'no news is good news' is my mantra line :)
