  1. Yes, I just got my license in July.
  2. My initial interview date is the 15th of Nov. They must have more than two initital interview dates?
  3. Yes, I am interviewing for Oncology on Tuesday. I don't know anything about it actually. I interviewed last year for CT ICU and it wasn't bad at all. It seems that they change the process a little bit every year of hiring new grads.
  4. Yes, I did get a call yesterday! I can't remember what my top choice was, either Peds/Onc. or CT-ICU. They said the interview will last 30mins and it will be with three interviewers, and if I do well, they will set me up for an interview with the nursing manager. I'm so excited for the opportunity to interview! I have about 40 hours of volunteer work at UCLA in the Peds/Onc. dept. Last Spring I applied for UCLA and Cedars and got and interview at both, but nothing further. UCLA hasn't called me yet for an interview this time around which is strange since I have an even better resume, I've moved to CA, and now have my license this time AND I'm volunteering at UCLA. O well, at least I still have hope for CHLA!! :) I wish you all the best with the job search!!
  5. I got a call from the unit director for the Cardiothoracic ICU today. Sad news...it was a rejection. It's sucky to have to start all over, but going to try for USC next. I just wish I knew how I could improve my profile. I have 100 hours in Coronary Criticial Care, I did a summer internship in Belize, I have 3 years CNA experience, and a 3.75 GPA. She said she interviewed over 30 applicants and is only taking 10. Maybe it's because I'm out of state. Best of luck to those who are still awaiting their call and who still have their interview!
  6. Thank you for the update Merr! I hope we find out this week. What did she all ask you at the interview? I feel like she didn't ask me very much! Are you applying from out of state? And do you have ICU experience?
  7. Merr, I also applied to the Cardiothoracic ICU. They told us to call at 2 weeks and so I called HR yesterday and they said that we should call the unit director instead and so I called B.H. (You can't post names so those are her initials). She did not answer and so I left a message and never heard back. I guess I'll just wait. Let me know if you hear anything! Good luck to everyone!
  8. Waiting is so hard!! I interviewed on the 11th for CT ICU. It was an interesting interview. I felt like I only talked for about 10 mins. She asked me about 1/2 way through if I had any questions and so luckily I did. So be prepared with questions for anyone who hasn't interviewed yet. Sounds like they will take 10 spots for the CT ICU.
  9. Yes, I am from the midwest and I applied for 3 ICU positions. I actually have my interview tomorrow, which sounds like when most of the ICU interviews are for. I set my interview up exactly 2 weeks ago and I flew out here for my interview.
  10. For those who have an interview on April 11th, do you know if your interview is specific to what you applied for or are they just interviewing for general ICU. I can't remember if the HR dept told me if I'd be interviewing for a specific unit. Thanks!
  11. qwertyuiop- I don't remember her telling me which ICU it would be for....maybe she did and I didn't catch it. My guess is that they do a general interview and then they decide from your interview which one to offer you if they want to hire you. Springbaybee- Being waitlisted isn't necessarily a bad thing...some people may get tired of waiting around and find other jobs and your chance may be up! :)
  12. I got an interview for ICU on April 11th!! Such a relief!! Sounds like they are doing all the ICU interviews on the 11th when I talked to recruitment.
  13. On March 9th I received the email that I would be contacted by talentplus and I still haven't received a call from them. I called UCLA and they said that I will get a call. I applied for 3 ICU positions. Has anyone else received the email from UCLA but not a call from TalentPlus yet?
  14. I received the email from TalentPlus that I would be called to set up an interview, but I have not received a call or an email yet. My status went from 'contacted for an interview' to 'application processed and assessment complete'. I'm not sure what that means. Hopefully TalentPlus will call soon!
  15. I am applying from the Midwest. I was told to apply early so I made sure I was ready to apply at 9am my time. They didn't open it right at 9 so I waited about 30 mins and as soon as it was open I submitted my application. Congrats Goody86 on getting the first interview as well!
