UCLA New Grad RN SUMMER 2011

Published

Summer hopefuls talk here.... good luck to us all!!! :nurse: :redbeathe

I got a letter from UCLA through my email about the schedule interview and Talentplus. For everyone who has completed the Talentplus does UCLA call you over the phone to do the interview. I am not sure if I am suppose to call to set up the Talenplus interview, someone please shed some light!!

First, you receive an email saying you need to complete talent plus and the skill survey. I called today and was told that it could take up to a week from the day you receive that email to get a call from talent plus to set up your interview as well as to get a second email from skill survey to do your references.

after you do the talent plus interview, ucla will call you if you get to move on to do an in person interview. or you will get an email/letter saying you werent chosen to go on. i THINK. thats just from me stalking these forums from last year lol

The only people that will be recieving a call for now are those that applied early morning on the first day, Monday.

I spoke with Sheri, and I applied at 7PM on monday, and am in the 700's of # of application.

Unfortunately, she told me, my application would most likely not be reviewed. They stick with the first 300, and if needed, move on from them. But is all on when you applied.

:/

wow really? so they didn't even really look at our applications, they just sent the talent plus email to the first 300?

I mean I am glad I got an email, but it just doesn't seem fair to everyone else that could be just as qualified if not more qualified that applied later.

I have been calling UCLA since nov. about the new grad program and the main advice i kept getting was apply as soon as the application is up. so I did. but I thought they'd at least read the application! lol

I just want to inform those who didn't apply on the first day to relax ..... I applied on Saturday 12th, and got my talent plus email.

its not about first come first served... its about what you bring to the table... coverletter, references...

Wow, thats amazing. When I spoke to Sheri she told me directly that it goes on order of applications.

The 3 managers for SkillSurvey do not have to be health care related.

Sorry to break it to you all...but if you did not apply the first day, then you should not get your hopes up. They had a couple hundred applications within the first hour...not to mention well over a thousand by the second day. Therefore they will not go over each and every application that was received in detail to check for quality of references, qualifications, etc...as some have suggested. This is illogical and does not make sense. This is why they only look at the first 300 or so applications that were received, and then begin the process of verifying credentials, etc. If they feel the need to look further, then they have the rest of the applications to sort through. Just don't put your money on it :).

Just scheduled my Talent Plus interview and received my email from SkillSurvey! Super nervous but excited!

Anyone know what happens after the talent plus interview? Or the waiting process once its completed?

Well if I had known they would have gone in order of appearance I wouldn't have bothered re-editing my cover letter and resume. I should have just left it as is. Oh well! There's always the hope that nobody will want oncology :)

Has anyone ever gets in UCLA new grad program with an ADN?

KUDOS!!for (moderator edit of name) at UCLA human resources, she was very nice and took time to talk to me about the selection process when i called. It made me feel good just to be able to talk to her!

So good luck everybody! Thanks for keeping us informed about this grueling process.

Does anyone no why skillsurvey will not allow me to submit my 3 reference survey. It keeps telling me that I need to submit 5 references but I thought that UCLA only wanted between 2-3 references?????
