Hi everyone! I have started working on my application for the UCLA MECN program for Fall 2022 and didn't see a forum so I decided to make one so we can experience this process together and help each other out!! ?

That's nice of you haha. Hopefully, but preparing myself for a rejection too.

I’m at this point as well. I haven’t heard anything either. It would be really cruel to not email us a rejection till next week LOL I just want to know

#19 waitlisted, does anyone know if past years have accepted that far down the list??

@Sunnnyflower Did you just get this notification or did you get it this morning as well?

I found out this morning.

Hi everyone! Received my acceptance this morning. Best of luck to everyone still waiting!

Mecn 1 here. I didn't hear back until Feb 20

I doubt they would allow you to TA your first quarter. Most TAs are from the DNP Phd program. I currently work 12-24 hours a week. It was manageable fall quarter but Winter quarter I would advise against working.

You didn’t hear anything until Feb 20th that you got accepted or you got notified you got off the waitlist?

Hi all!

For those admitted (…congrats!), did your letter start with:

”It is a pleasure to inform you, the School of Nursing recommended to UCLA Graduate Division, your admission into the Master’s Entry Clinical Nursing (MECN) Program beginning Fall Quarter, 2022. Please be advised that the University of California, Los Angeles School of Nursing Graduate Division makes FINAL admission decisions. You should receive the OFFICIAL notification from UCLA Graduate Divisions within a week. This email will include a link to your official decision letter. This letter will contain important instructions on how to indicate your intent to register and how to complete a Statement of Legal Residence.”

Also attached to the email is financial aid info and an estimated student budget as well as a “status sheet/admission restrictions” document indicating that I need to send them official transcripts and complete epidemiology for “conditional admission.”

Apologies for this slightly dumb question but… am I admitted conditionally, or is there still a decision to be made on behalf of the graduate division and this merely indicates their recommendation? All signs in the email and attached documents point towards being granted admission (contingent on the epidemiology/official transcripts, of course), as well as the final line of the email saying “congratulations on your acceptance to UCLA,” but that second line In the quote above about “Please be advised that the UCLA School of Nursing Graduate Division makes FINAL admission decisions.” (in all bold, nonetheless) makes me second-guess whether or not there is still a decision to be made by the graduate division, or if I’m effectively accepted *as long as I send them what they’re asking for* on the status sheet.

I can’t tell if I’m just reading too much into the wording, or if my letter is different from those who are saying that they got acceptance letters, so any feedback would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

I heard one year they let in 20 people. Most years it seems like 10-13 people were taken.

Thanks for sharing this! I so value hearing current student experiences. Do you think you'll work again in any future semesters?

I’m kinda considering other programs because LA is so expensive and I’m not sure how much in scholarships they offer and it’s like impossible to work during the program ? the money part is really stressing me out …
